Re: Cargojet collective agreement

He's also disguising that this actually means a serious amount of OT. I believe CJ has a different credit system. It's not based, at least not entirely on flight credits. He would have spent a lot of days away from home to make well over 100K in OT. Even if he wasn't necessarily flying. Yes, there ...

Re: Cargojet collective agreement

Comparing hourly rate yes. But having been here less than 3 years as a DEC my T4 was over $250K and I only flew 400hrs HA! Point proven. That’s an AVERAGE narrow body rate, at best. Also, 400 hours on the backside of the clock that’s a lot. There’s a reason duty time is a sliding scale. He's also d...

Re: Cargojet Hiring Outlook 2024-

Yes starting pay $138 DEC Capt 1 is low hopefully that will change with new contract in 2026. However it is a bit of apples and oranges when you compare hourly rate. Most airlines hourly rate is based on a min guarantee which most airlines try to schedule their crews to as closely as possible and gu...

Re: B747 Rating ?

https://www.panamacademy.com/flight-training-devices/ They used to have a 707 sim but it looks like it’s out of service now. Don't ever waste your money at Pan Am Sim training(Especially Miami), its one of the worst run places with old broken down Sims and their trainers are more Sim operators than...

Re: B747 Rating ?

The issue is you’re looking to get it stamped in your blue booklet. The 747 has no value in Canada. That's a question, would Transport even issue the rating given the foreign training, and the fact the type is not operated here ? Looks like Bob Briggs beat me to it anyway, that will be tough to bea...

Re: 2023 earnings

While I was in Asia, my salary + allowances (housing schooling) was similar paying a flat 15% tax. But you have to remember things are a lot more expensive over there, my rent on a 2000sq ft apartment was $15K CAD/month and I paid $7K CAD/month for 3 kids in school, not all of which is offset by the...

Re: 4 Flair aircraft seized

If I was leasing a Ferrari for $100/mo, there is no way I'd be late on a payment EVER!!!!!! They knew they had a hell of a deal with COVID lease rates, why they would do anything to jeopardize that, even if it is industry standard to look the other way for being a day or so late with payments. They ...

Re: Interest in US airline positions

I think what everybody also has to keep in mind is that if this is true and does come to fruition then it won't just be Canadians that will be looking at this. It will every pilot worldwide. Any pilot from any country that works as an expat will see the US as another expat opportunity just with bett...

Re: Porter receiving E195-E2?

Maybe not. But there must be some restriction on having 2 pilots up front with zero time on type. The jurisdiction I fly in requires 1 of the two up front to have 100hrs on type. So priority is to get Capt's to 100hrs after entry into service of a new type so they can fly with new FO's, but they wou...

Sorry ALTIPLANO, not true, if you look at the link below and go find Air Canada on the A-D page you will find the HK government provided wage subsidy to AC's 29 HK employees under the Governments ESS program.(and thats the 2nd amount they received) Probably, its the same in other countries, so reall...

Re: A320 CA pay in Cathay Pacific after the "Paycut"

You have to also note that the numbers posted above are for Capt 4 at CX, and there are only 4 steps total, so that is the highest any Capt would ever get paid for flying the monthly min hour guarantee on that fleet. Also unlike AC, CX doesn't have different pay scales for different fleets so that f...

Hi I don’t imagine you have a very high turnover for all the reasons that you have stated above. Is there a time line one can expect to move to the Left seat, or would that only take place upon someone retiring. I can attest your operation is first notch, and I’ve even flown into your mine site, min...

I fly for CX and commute to YDF (then on to Bay SGeorge) for the summers. Mind you I only have to do it once a month from YDF to HK return, but it is doable. From what I've found summer season is all one way directional, everyone heading east at the start of summer and light loads back, and everyone...

As a CX employee I often travel on you guys outta YVR and YYZ, and find the best way to list is to call the HK res line. It's always answered right away. I use it even when in Canada. I'd rather spend a 3 min long distance call, rather than be on hold for 2 hours on the NAM res line. I've also been ...
