Re: ICS course for AME M license
ICS is great for some however may be a hinderance for others. Its all what will work best for yourself. In my situation it works very well. I am A Professional Pilot who has fallen in love with the maintenance side of Aviation. I work full-time as an apprentice with an AMO and on the weekends I fly....

What to do...
I have been in the industry for about 5 years and I have been feeling like ever since getting into this industry it has been a constant 1 step fwd, 2 steps back affair while training to and eventually becoming a 1000hr Pilot. Recently I took a step back from flying full time to pursue and complete m...

Panorama Aviation
Hello All,
I am looking at getting some information on Panorama Aviation. Is it a rotation gig/Pilot bases? Do they hire English pilots or strictly bilingual?
thanks

Survey work
Hello All, I am wondering if anyone has information on how survey companies in Canada work. The spring to fall months are what I assume is there bread and butter but is it even possible for some surveys to occur in the winter months? Do a lot of survey companies transit a/c to the US for there off m...

Re: Instructing vs Ramp
I personally started out on the ramp. It truly is what you make of it and the connections you build during your time in that position. Love it or hate it but I found in most cases its very much a carrot dangling in front of your face to see how much crap you can take and for how long. If you want th...

Re: Cost for a Multi Engine Instrument Rating.
Overall a decent explanation on the rating itself. However, not all information is correct. Its a Dual 100NM IFR flight containing 2 different locations, approach to minima. Video states 100hrs dual XC.

Re: The Technological Future of the Profession
I believe the move to Pilotless cockpits will be a long ways away. Some may think its a good direction to take however the majority of the public and passengers who will actually be flying on these things would probably not be so confident. People can be bias/worried when they see a younger flight c...

Re: Air Borealis
Twa22, I may be wrong but I believe Ninja was recommending the ramp to flight line if you have lower than 500tt. Unfortunately it has been all to common especially with this company to not even get so much as a follow up from them even if you blow the requirements out of the water. Goes to show the ...

Air Borealis
Wondering if anyone has any knowledge on current or past hiring at Air Borealis.
From just looking around I notice 500TT seems to be a "preference" for FO's. Does anyone know if they currently hire lower time guys/gals? How's life up in Goose?

Pilot Shortage
I am very curious to hear everyone's different thoughts on how fast the Pilot shortage will become an issue again. After coming up on over 18mths of a pilot surplus. How long roughly until the famine becomes a feast again? Do you think it will become such an issue smaller operators are forced to clo...

Re: Airaf exam
I wrote my Airaf about a month or so ago. I used Pilottraining.ca & Nizus.
I feel they both helped really well. I would say that the exam questions they provide are an accurate picture of what to expect on the exam.
Best of luck!

Curious if anyone knows the latest on Evas Air?
Do you think they will eventually do scheduled service on the east coast again or has PAL stepping in made them irrelevant?

Re: 2 weeks On, 2 weeks Off... Or more!
Borek does advertise 3 weeks On and off. However, for the most part that is unrealistic unless you are out of YEV on the 1900/B200.
Other than that you can expect to be up north for possibly months at a time with minimal days off. It is a fun run. Just try and know 100% of what your dealing with!

Re: Sable Island
A few operators routinely fly into Sable Island still. Sable Aviation which flies a BN2A Islander, and Air Borealis with the DHC6. All of course landing on the beach. Not sure about AB but Sable Aviation may do some charters from time to time. A company out of YQY, Breton Air recently got approval t...

AIRAF Written Exam question
An answer I have been trying to find online but not much success so far. Does anyone know if I were to complete the Harvs Air online groundschool for the Instructor rating, would this satisfy TC's 25hr Groundschool requirement? Could I use the recommend they provide for my written exam? I do underst...
