Re: Airlines deliver poor service to Kelowna residents: 40 flights cancelled
Not sure if you just didn't read the article you posted, or you're being intentionally facetious. It doesn't matter if the conditions are smoke or fog, if you can't fly an instrument approach into Kelowna, you're not going to be landing there when the visibility is 3/4 mile. What exactly does that ...

Re: Project Reroute
I was contemplating whether or not to post it, I know it's a bit out of pocket. Whatever. But I think more people need to be aware of what it seems Reroute is becoming.......... long arm of ACPA? Shutting down all member communication is right out of the ACPA playbook. I find it odd that RG is sayin...

Prob not until after the AC bid is my guess which has now been delayed until next week. They do all the crewing calculations together then AC sends what they need to Jazz.

Are we allowed to compare ourselves to delta though? I thought that was against the rules...lol Only if your Jalmer or MM. How about our regional? Can we compare to them? 2 flight before check in policy, no fault drop if you can't make it. I've been told the reason we don't have one is for our bene...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
Delta now has pos commuting and I'm sure they are only just the first to go this way. Multiple regionals in the USA pay for multiple hotels a month for commuters. And I think Endeavor already is doing the same pos space as Delta. Add the CASS jumpseater system and it's a whole different world for co...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
What is everybody's take on the bid being delayed. Do you see this as a potentially busier future sched leading to more recalls or extra time to extract concessions? I think everybody is looking forward to having some sort of outlook to plan their lives around. I’m pessimistic. I think we’re just b...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
I found the FOS contract, so I added some more numbers into my spreadsheet: C5E8B4DD-CDCA-42C7-A89C-E78A2EF56AD9.jpeg Or for the more graphically inclined: BEC91E1B-5441-43A7-8FC6-B2433981F710.jpeg In other words, by 2015 we still hadn’t got back to the 2003 pay, without factoring inflation! So in ...

http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/download/file.php?id=17645 That sure reads as "we have a pay schedule, but we're going to pay less on the new equipment because people want to fly it and we can." Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
Legal is a joke. But the formula rates are posted on the ACPA website before each April. Well they sure don't do a very good job advertising that. ACPAs biggest ongoing issue is communication with members. And the dumb flight deck app isn't going to change that. Zero chance I'm putting an app that ...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
Well when an unelected lawyer has way more control on the flow of information than anyone should have, this is the dumpster fire you get.
Did you know that committee chairs can't just call up an MEC member to have a chat? All info MUST go through the head of legal. Why? I have no clue.

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
Ok fair enough. I guess a middle ground I could be ok with is revamping formula pay (and fixing the FO % or CA pay) and ALSO have acpa post official paytables based on that formula once a year. It's not a lot of work and honestly the Crewsware guy is already 95% of the way there (there's a few glar...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
So now that we've ironed out that there are some significant issues with pay and representation at the NHL of airlines, is there anything actively being done to improve any of the above? Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
I feel like everyone should read "Flying the Line" anyway... Unfortunately those contracts don’t contain pay tables. They simply show the formula pay inputs. Recreating the pay tables would be a huge undertaking. I don’t think it is realistic to expect someone to put in hundreds of hours to recreat...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
The problem is getting a proper understanding of the losses. Since 2003 we have had cuts layered on top of cuts making it difficult. Kind of like opening a credit card statement and initially looking at it in disbelief. Initially it’s denial. No way, I didn’t do that! Then you go through it line by...

Re: Retirees Lose Decision re C2 and B1 Passes
Active employees ahead of retirees should be the policy. Just like other large airlines. IMO there is no scenario, beyond a retirement POS pass that someone that doesn't presently work at the company should go ahead of someone that does. That said, agent nepotism had F-d a lot up for all pass trave...

That's still $40k or so more, all things equal.... I am using the pension estimator choosing the highest paid projected status as soon as possible. The pension calculator also accounts for a pay rate of WB CA in the $400s... I'm sure guys in the early 2000's though we'd already be there or close. Bu...

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
I'm curious to know the status of the march 14th, 2020 ground school group. Since "everyone" is being recalled, this should include those as well since seniority number were awarded. I believe they were sent back home before the 2nd week of their training started. Every Jazz pilot that was on payro...
