Good job Slats...I was going to ask if it was year round. Too bad it had to come to that but at least you had another option.

Re: Bush/Float drivers: Flight bag (grocery bag?) contents?
apparently I didn't read the recent post about "gear required" which seems to have some good things in there...Still wondering what people are carrying their junk in, and the a/c they are flying.
Also still wondering about a good multi-tool other than leatherman

Re: Left the industry/considered it/or know someone who did?
So far every post on this thread has been an eye opener to me, and it makes me realize why I got into flying in the first place. I was 13 years old and decided that flying those crazy machines and getting paid to do it wouldn't be a bad way to spend my life, so I went after it and sure enough I did ...

Re: Left the industry/considered it/or know someone who did?
Awesome posts so far guys. And thanks bushav8r you laid it out pretty good.
It seems that those who left and returned did it because they were missing being in the cockpit and flying, not for the lifestyle or money of course. After all, thats why we got into this in the first place right?

Re: Left the industry/considered it/or know someone who did?
Thanks for the comments so far guys, that's what I'm looking for. I'm not saying I do not like my job, because that is not true. I actually like the job itself, it's mostly the part where I don't have the ability to have a life outside of work that bothers me. You only live once as far as I know, an...

Left the industry/considered it/or know someone who did?
If you have already left the aviation industry, considered leaving at one point, or know someone who left for a different career...what else would you do? I'm asking because lately I have been losing faith in this line of work, which is easy to do...Especially when all other pastures look greener ar...

Re: A word of warning...
Sorry for annoying you 1coolav8r with the thread drift, I went back and read it all to see how it got to here. What I saw was people discussing the hiring practices of companies. These discussions have a way of drifting but at least this one stayed generally on topic. Once again I apologize for off...

Re: A word of warning...
Pretty impressive how this thread went from talking about West Coast Air's policies, to learning about Cat Driver's career, to talking about the "Good ol' Days"

He won't do that again, will he?

Re: CanJet charter / Hola Sun Holidays
Latest rumor from a friend who was on this flight: a notepad was passed around the terminal in Cuba taking everyone's name and info and they are planning a class action lawsuit against the tour operator and CanJet. Sounds like what really went on there is a lot worse than the newspaper article made ...

The best part was when the Chiefs were late for the ceremony. CLASSIC. No big deal, they probably just had to quickly run to the grocery store or Wal-Mart before the show!!
