Re: How to work as a pilot in Canada and not pay income taxe

Wooah there partener - I painted the Health care system as lolypops and roses. Talk about put words in my mouth - I did not say that however I will say that each and every province (it's a provincial responsibility BTW) is better than the DR. I too have worked most of my adult life overseas some for...

Re: So a pilot walks into a Crescent St Bar.....

Well you would never get away with it at the Aero Club of East Africa - the bar stewart would ring the big brass bell and the culprit would stand a round for the patrons. Everybody being equal at the Aero Club - I surmise the intent. I had a friend of mine who, when he saw a pilot type overdressed f...

Re: AVIBANK

We called them "pip" pins. Used on the seats on folding seats for a pax/cargo aircraft. Also on the removable cargo rollers to pin the rollers to the floor boards.
Can be used on a number of non-critical applications.

Re: Volunteer Opportunity- AME (M)-Apprentice

Sure is - Just go down your local aviation museum and you can work your ass off for as many hours as you would like. There are even flying museums so you are working on certified flying machines under the care and control of a AME. However - please please please avoid commercial operations. PITA PS ...

Re: It's Not Just Paperwork

I agree with the statements and understand the importance of aircraft records, but perhaps Mr Whitehead would write an article and name it for instance: "Its not ONLY paperwork" (that deems an aircraft airworthy.) For distribution to his peers at T.C. As many of us dirty faced guys on the hangar flo...

Re: Cargojet buys the rest of prince edward

When a company states that they have "good revenues" but this is "before costs" ie taxes loan repayments etc. its really a kaka statement. Sure nice to say we have revenues of 100 dollars but fail to mention we had costs of 99.99$ Income trusts are really a thing of the past after the gov"t changed ...

Re: Viking Proposes Resurrection Of DHC-5 Buffalo

There is nothing wrong with the CT 64 820 engine except lact of futher development post manufacture. This is due to the small numbert of engines produced. If there is an operator out there who cant get more than 500hrs out of them they are surely doing something (everything) from operation to miaint...

Re: Canada signs deal for CP-140 Aurora life extension

IMHO staying with the same basic airframe is alot cheaper than getting a new type of aircraft. Secondly if the DND get the Buffalo replacements there considering this will make it 3 different airframes with the same engine/prop combination. Spartan, Aurora, Hurc. Huge savings just ask the fellas ove...

5400 has it pretty well on the mark The way I interpet it is that Revenue Canada takes the position that if your not a resident of Canada any more, what Coutnry are you a resident of? If you can't come up with a viable explaination they will gladly contunue to receive the money. I worked overseas fo...

Methinks Azimuth answered the question by not answering the question.
However he did state all work will be supervised and certified.
AMO's did enter the discussion but he stated "GA aircraft" in his initial post.

When changing from one maintenance schedule to another there is a foumula used to determine the time remaining until overhaul CAR's 625 appx F I believe. X = Y x A/B x = time remaining on new program y = time remaining of previous program a = interval on new program b = interval on previous program....

You wont be able to afford the cost of training while working as an apprentice or licenced AME - so if you qualfy for a gov't program...........
and you will not qualify for any gov't programs if you have a trade (read AME)
