Re: Best guess when hiring will happen
Given the excess vacancies on the AC bid released today, and the fact the most of our new hires have to come from Jazz I imagine OTS hiring at Jazz will start pretty soon.

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
Vacancies does not equal immediate recalls. So while there are enough vacancies to recall all furloughs, plus add some new hires, remember the bid is supposed to be forward looking 12 months. So it may take some time to get everyone back on property. For reference, bid 21-02 which closed August 26 ...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
Yeah it's actually three 787s. I heard they were white tails and we're getting them all in the Spring, not over 2022/2023. We are not crewed for 40 737s, or the amount of Rouge they plan to run this winter. This bid will be an expansion bid, I'm sure of it. Can't wait to see the clusterfuck that wil...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
Members far more harmed….not furloughed pilots far more harmed. AC let go 15%, AT let go almost 90% of all their pilots (at one point). I'd love to know what galaxy you live in. Must be pretty far off, maybe Andromeda? Andromeda is the closest galaxy to ours.... but I get your point  Contrary...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
That's your problem... You're using a vacation tour operator with a completely different business model and financial position as a comparator. They aren't our comparator. And even so, we are the only Canadian airline that didn't keep our "layoffs" on CEWS. Do you really think AC would have said no...

Re: ACPA MEC
As I’m sure you know the recommendation to have CEO oversight came from the FOS audit. It’s available on the ACPA website if you search for negotiations audit. It’s a damning report that highlights how dysfunctional everyone had become and how much was lost because of it. Personal attacks against a...

Maybe then the scope chair wouldn't do month after month of 100 hours a month.

If ALPA AT won’t allow their pilots to do OT until they are all back flying so be it. Their members suffered far more harm than we have. Uh what? If we compare bottom of the list AC to bottom of the list AT, their pilots received an extra year and a bit (or $30k) worth of CEWS. They will likely be ...

Re: ACPA MEC
Unions don't need CEO's. That's a fact. Ironic, right? No clue what backroom deal the MEC signed him to. Likely very costly. He has been next to useless, just like the last one. Maybe dip into our --equally useless-- strike fund and send him packing with our cash. It would be very sobering if someo...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
Look what a colossal F- up the training plan is, and next cmsc bid will be even more mess. Could you imagine if it was more lay offs? Just more mess. ... keep the FAs happy.... Company is scrambling. And interesting point.. makes you wonder if the pilot layoffs were really just to appease the FAs. ...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
How pissed off does it make you to hear someone say Cargo was not a 10% pay cut. That it was a 90% pay raise. The YVR Chair said this. I almost threw up. There is plenty of cancer at ACPA still, at all levels. They need to be excised permanently. Until the "yellow" mindset is gone in its entirety w...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
The monthly pay uplift and overtime (on Gdays) is really significant, so is the all Gdays. I see the value. Except with the new FDT regulations, the requirement for 1 single day free from duty in any 168 consecutive hours essentially would have made all of the O days guaranteed, for zero bargaining...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
I don’t think they would have brought back furloughed pilots any faster but they might have passed on the 777 flying for lack of crew, which i think is not good. Your job is to look after members. It is not your job to operate this airline. That is management’s job. Union members getting sucked int...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
I thought all the days in POR block were going to Gdays ? Isn’t that better ? Also, if you do work on those Gdays it’s double time no ? And don’t they give you the Gdays back ? Ah yes a few extra dollarydoos to lose complete control over your seniority. No biddable RAPs is ridiculous. As is the com...

Okay….what exactly didn’t you like about the last deal? Leave the toxicity for a bit and spell out your real concerns. Ok here's four 1) RAPS. lack of any black and white language. No ability to bid raps like other airlines, no language around what best fit really means. Leaving a lot to CS interpr...
