What this guy said. It the last PIT it seemed like all of us had different timelines for our own hiring process.skypirate88 wrote:I wouldn't get too caught up in a time line for the process. It appears that it varies candidate to candidate. The more you stress over it the longer it will seem to take.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
I as well got the "Ground Schools are full". I did the in-person interview in Feb and the medical back at the end of March. I'm assuming 1 of 2 things have happened here. 1) They reduced the number of ground school spots for whatever reason and over interviewed for the number of vacancies. 2) They'...

Just a way for the Minister to avoid having to tackle the real problem of scheduling and fatigue, but make it look in the public eye that the government is doing something to make the public safer while travelling.

We were given an amount that would cover a "basic ipad", eg. the 16gb, and if you wanted more features the rest was up to you.

Lots of good tips here, thanks all! The last few weeks I've been doing a "learn to speak" program I purchased awhile back, totally forgot I had it. Also reading the book "Fluent in 3 Months" for some more inspiration. Like a couple of you have said, I find just forcing yourself to speak it as much a...

Re: Air Canada's New Livery
I saw it in person while taxiing out today at YYZ and have to admit it looked better in person than I expected. That being said, airplane plaint schemes overall aren't exactly wild & crazy. Not sure you can really blow anyone away with a commercial airliner's paint scheme.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Thanks. Might as well just go to the PML carrier then if it's only a year to get an interview with AC. It might be that long for OTS anyways. Plus I'll be a stronger applicant with 705 experience. Well, this may be good news or more confusing news for you, but I also received the email last April s...

Thanks gang. I definitely think the having to force yourself to try and converse with actual Francophones is required, the learning is just super slow without it!

Learning Conversational French
Just curious if anyone here has any tips or info on learning French for an Anglophone? I'd like to be able to converse somewhat-fluently with our French passengers and locals while on the road or at work. Took it in primary school but of course high school me to was to cool to learn French, so I hav...

6100 TT
~700 PIC on a Citation
~1000 PIC on DH8
Bachelors
internal reference from a good friend who has been at AC a few years
Hoping for a call! However I did interview back in 2012 and didn't get accepted then, so not sure if that will be a negative on my application.

Flight Deck Visit
Hey gang. Going YYZ - MCO#1228 next week on the 28th, with my wife, our best friends and their 2 kiddies (3y and 8 mos), and was hoping we would be able to pop up to the flight deck after arrival to say hello and get a pic with the little one up front. She digs that kind of stuff! First time flyers ...

Hope that the pilot is OK. Spent a lot of years at Wasaya with a lot of great people. There is a big red and white placard on all Caravans that aren't certified that says " Flying not permitted in forecast or known icing conditions ". Any of you new Caravan drivers, don't be afraid to go point at th...

Re: Aviation program at sault college, Ontario.
The argument of "government paid for my flight training" from Soo or Confed or whatever is misleading. The student still has to pay tuition, which is quite high. Talking to some coworkers who are grads of those various programs, none paid significantly less than another who did their training sans c...
