Re: Companies Laying off.

I am curious. How is it that AC (and I believe WJ and Encore) managed to come up with a work share agreement to reduce (mitigate) the effects of the industry downturn yet Jazz has come up with nothing? Did the Jazz ALPA MEC sacrifice their junior members by not doing some sort of work share thus al...

Re: Layoffs

Yeah well the great and almighty ALPA gave up the requirement for a downbid too... but hey at least the ones not effected keep their left seat, left seat pay and oh ya dont touch my db kid! If a down-bid was run now, the layoffs at Jazz would be much worse. That shows how little you know...

Re: Layoffs

Heard notices went out yesterday, any updates from ACPA regarding mitigation, early retirements etc.. We had 675 notices at Jazz, apparently they are still working on mitigation but there is a chance more notices go out if the flying is further reduced. Currently sitting at 12% of the original April...

Re: Ground school canceled

Going to level with you, the train is going to be a while, so I’m thinking you might want a job that pays the bills to ride this out. If you can find a flying job, good for you, the competition is going to be pretty high given 675 Jazz pilots just received notice and probably about the same at AC, i...

Re: Layoffs

675 until July 1, 2020, no loss of pay or position until then either. Captains will be assigned right seat duties as required until either more layoffs or a reduction bid is run, wow! I’m still in shock how quickly we went from a shortage to massive layoffs, I hope we can recover almost as fast. The...

Re: New collective agreement

Was there a reason from the pilots perspective that a collective agreement needed to be agreed to at this time? As an outsider this seems like the absolute worst time to be trying to leverage anything out of an already low end employer. I do not have any information about the details, only to say t...

Re: Swoop CRM Class Shutdown by Police

It sounds funny, agreed, but weren't airlines considered essential services? How are people getting home if there are no airlines flying around? If we don’t have our annual CRM, are the planes going to start falling from the sky? Jazz has made adjustments to class size so that we can have the physi...

Please enlighten us as to the alternative option that could have been done. I mean it’s not like the worlds experts haven’t weighed in to influence current response, which most countries are doing. Hell, even the ones who initially scoffed(UK) now regret that. So, please I would love to know the be...

Re: Coronavirus Numbers

Let’s circle back to this in 6 months and see if you feel the same, it’s not just sick and old people dying, otherwise healthy people in their 30s and 40s are also dying. Let’s see how it works for Brazil or Sweden without responding, maybe you’ll be right, very unlikely. My guess, when they realiz...

Re: Coronavirus Numbers

Reported numbers and mortality rates are USELESS. They are only good at causing enough concern to self isolate as to not overload the medical system. Hundreds of thousands have probably already had it, but were not tested. Mortality rates are only a factor of those "known" with this Flu bug. Since ...

What about the 300 000 mysteriously disconnected phones? I’m not a conspiracy theorist but I sure as shit don’t trust the Chinese numbers as they currently stand. Or, no pay cheques for 3 months equals no phone bills paid equals disconnected phones Guess they’re all homeless too, eh? That’s a leap,...

Do you know if your described solution still works if I buy tickets now to travel in 9 monhts? Why would you do that? What's the rush? I would wait to see how things develop over the next 3-4 months. Hey, don’t discourage people from future bookings, airlines run on that! Not to mention, good deals...

Was just about to post this. They’ve delivered twice as many urns so far than that claimed death toll, and on the current delivery schedule it will be 40 000 delivered urns in 10 days. The Chinese are clearly hiding their real number. But so long as the borders are closed, it’s really their own pro...
