Re: Moncton Flight College or Gander Flight Training?
Hi, I am 25 Y/O and complimenting a career change to becoming a pilot. Because i'm not fresh out of highschool, I'm looking to put my head down and get my CPL as fast as I can, while also limiting my debt where possible. Would you suggest the ICPC program at Moncton Flight College (PL,CL,Multi/IFR)...

Also bringing in the equivalent number of pilots. Most likely with certain fences. At least with the swoop integration a bunch of those ex captains are leaving to chase the 4 bars somewhere else You may find yourself being one of those four bar pilots just trying to survive the industry one day. Re: Hiring process estimated time
It seems to depend on so many things that there is no consistent answer. The last time they contacted me was around 6 months after I'd updated my profile. At the time I had twice your experience, but that also doesn't really seem to factor into the outcome. Out of the blue they emailed me an interv...

Re: Fastest Airline to Upgrade on 737NG?
Sunwing is likely the slowest because they require 2000 hours on a 50+ tonne jet, by the time you get that, they will be merged with WestJet ALPA and you'll go to the bottom of the list based on date of hire. Please don't comment about subjects that you know nothing about. Thanks. Don’t be surprise...

Re: Best Airline to Work For, for pilots living in YYC?
It would appear, that if one lived in Calgary, your best aim is Westjet. An excellent contract with excellent pay. The biggest issue appears to be upgrade time. Fair ball. But looking historically over the last years, there are a few causes. One of course, is Covid. Another is Swoop. With expansion...

Re: AIP is dogshit
The pay works like this: For easy math let's say you made $100/hour OLD Hourly rate $100 + 20% WSP = $120 NEW [Hourly rate $100 + 15.5% raise + 9.1% from WSP] + 10% WSP = $138.6 $120 + 15.5% = 138.6 Everyone's pay increase for year one is 15.5% overall. A lot more for people who didn't do the full ...

Re: AIP is dogshit
As an outsider you can correct me if I’m wrong but the company match was taxed at the source as income, was it not? So, if the company match was 20,000 eg; you pay the taxes as though you earned it as income, so not a true cash in hand like you stated. It was essentially a 20,000 raise delayed by a...

Re: AIP is dogshit
100% agree, this AIP is dog poop Doest meet the moment, and by the end of its term WILL have pilots in the red again/taking losses to inflationary pressures. 15% raise almost exactly meets the ON PAPER inflation of the last few years (tho we all know true inflation is drastically higher then 15). T...

The wages don't matter without scope. It doesn't matter if you make 400/hr when someone else is doing your flying There is a MASSIVE pilot deficit in canada, no pilot needs to worry about not having space to fly.. quite the contrary we need to worry that we are flying TOO much, and get relief from ...

Hot off the CTV News site Nohttps://calgary.ctvnews.ca/westjet-pilots-deal-grants-24-pay-raise-over-four-years-1.6414772 Public pressure to accept the deal? By ALPA itself? :?: MECs don't put an agreement out for a vote unless they support it. Exactly, digits thought he solved something fishy

Re: Agreement in Principle reached
Supply vs Demand. Market forces and pilot supply are completely different in the States vs Canada. In the states, they have an ACTUAL shortage of supply. In Canada, it’s not gotten to the point at the majors yet where they’re competing against a big number of other major players for ATPL pilots. How...

I could be mistaken, but I dont think this 15% puts WJ pay rates higher than AC. Or is this what you meant? From the numbers I’ve seen WJ will definitely be higher than current AC NB. The problem is these are all rumour based from people trying to do the math of raises based on old rates so I guess...

How long after the sim eval it takes to be PFO? It’s been already 3 weeks for me, my sim partner got an offer on Tuesday, total silence for me. Another guy with us also didn’t hear back yet. 2/3 ref check is good. They might call you this week. What GS date the other guy got. Apparently July has la...
