Re: Best company for commuters?

OT is a very good point. I have a lot of commuter friends who spend around 6-800$ a month commuting. What, did you think it was free? AIFs. Ubers to the airport, food, crashpads, not to mention it is probably the single biggest waste of your time. I could never imagine getting into cattle class aft...

Who cares if you're in ground school and quit to go somewhere better It’s nothing personal it’s just business brotha You cost less than 3 turbine blades This is not very good advice in my opinion. Re: So how actually is at the other side of the fence?

I feel like everyone can agree if you’re in your early to mid 20s, unmarried, mortgage free (cuz ur too broke to have a home anyways lol) that the wisest decision is to go to AC hands down. How many years can you spend as a widebody captain at porter? How come many airlines have come and gone but AC...

Re: When Will ALPA Accept a Deal?

I don’t think I am wrong for thinking a 100k to start is still too little. Way less than what our peers make 50 km south of Toronto.

I think it should start around 120k and go up to 160-170 the following

777 guys should make 500+

I went to the roadshow, It felt like I was being sold a timeshare. They seem like they want you to have Emirates injected in your blood, everything in your life should revolve around them… your doctors, your kids school, your living space, your lifestyle, the pay is nice however it seems like you wo...

People hating on the expats wayyyyy too much. No ones skipping any lines going DEC at Flair or Porter. I can see why it’s so appealing, you can have the worlds best flying and destinations, fly the newest and biggest, career progression is much quicker than here, very high salaries with no tax… But...

You guys need to look at the big picture here. You want upgrade times to stay fast? You want gains? You need guys like OP and YOUNGER (I’m talking grade 12,8,6,3) interested in flying again. You need them to go against their parents and not become engineers, doctors, lawyers, AI developers(Nothing w...

Re: DELTA CONTRACT 2024 = AC contract at a minimum!

I found Delta’s 2026 pay as well. 3rd year Delta 220 FO makes more than a AC 220 CA...nice... Its worse than that, If you look at the conversion and difference in tax, a first year FO at Delta will take more home than a A220 CA at AC. On pure conversion (No tax considered) the second year FO makes ...

That’s a sweet gig on an even sweeter plane. Turboprop>Piston

It’s single engine sure, but that engine is the same as the one on the 1900. It has all the capabilities of a King Air and will fly in the same conditions, any employer will see that.

Re: New Flair payscle, highest starting rate in the country

How could you possibly call this a win in this economy? FO tops out at 100k USD? Wow. You’ll get to see what it’s like to be 22 year old FO starting at Jetblue. Just kidding, they take home way more than you (Freaking tax) Still can’t even start at 100K CAD as an airline pilot. Plus the OT is straig...

Re: New Hire Sims?

$58K is a shitty salary and completely inappropriate for a professional airline pilot, but it's far from poverty. You really don't know poverty or how to balance your spending if you can't make it on that. Car payments? iPhones? Vacations? Stuff? They are all luxuries. Not affording them is not pov...

It was a little tongue n’ cheek about the jumpseat but it’s also a very real situation that I’ve seen happening more and more lately. If you’ve read any my other posts in this thread, I’ve said many time that no Jazz pilot wants to hurt an AC pilot. We want AC to he held accountable for violating t...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow

The planet where a CDN pilot showed up for his first day at AC with seniority. This countered your point. It’s unlikely for jazz but not impossible. Proves my point even further. Canadian pilots became AC pilots when they merged. AC is not merging with Jazz, it's no different than a pilot coming fr...
