Re: Thunder Airlines MU2 accident in Wawa
Multiple news outlets are reporting an MU2 in Wawa was destroyed upon landing at 0740local time. No injuries reported, and TSB is enroute. Runway remains closed. This marks the 4th incident/accident in just over 2 years. On Aug 6 2021 a King Air landing YMO overran the runway On Apr 11 2022 a king ...

Re: Thunder Airlines MU2 accident in Wawa
The MU2 can land in very short distances. Flaps 40 approach over the fence at 90 knots, touch down at 80 knots, immediate full reverse, brakes, will yield well under 1000 ft, maybe 700 ft. Landing is never the problem in an MU2, you can always land shorter than you can takeoff. Wawa is 4500' and 10...

Re: 777 Funded Flair Using Insurance Customers' Deposits
As an aside, I've been saying for a couple years now Flair airlines only exists to lease planes from 777, and is racking up a soon-to-be unsustainable debt in doing so. Wasn’t it about 2 years ago you got booted from the Flair hiring pool? I'm not so sure about that JD, but that's an interesting po...

So you exclude the most populous areas, live only in the country, and don't have enough money to have a drink... sounds entirely reasonable! Also, you just described being Amish. The average single income in Canada in 2023 is 72k, and it absolutely sucks, it hasn't caught up to the last 4 years. Th...

If you can’t make it in YOW maybe it’s time to shut it all down. This is old news. Did you have to wait for a buddy of a buddy of yours to send you this so you can post it online to stir up shit? It not old news to me, first I’m hearing of this and it doesn’t look good to be pulling back when you’r...

He’s saving people from getting shystered. They just come off as a disgruntled employee. If they’re so unhappy here, I don’t understand why they choose to still be here. I do the same thing to anyone I know who thinks about booking on Flair. Record load factors… at $69 a seat barely even paying for...

Re: Flair Cadet Program Assessments
Why wouldn’t Flair be here in a year? Oh, I don't know. For starters the CEO went on a press tour telling everyone "we are heading for a financial reconning or what ever" We’ve been here for 18 years already now As a charter company not competing with the big boys. We just took 2 new aircraft this ...

Re: Flair Cadet Program Assessments
Hi all. I'm currently 16 years old and still in high school doing my A-Levels (I'm in the ME region but am a Canadian Citizen) and am looking at flight schools/cadet programs. I came across the Flair Cadet program offered at Genesis Flight College and I'm wondering what the entry assessments looked...

Re: TUI style
This is a fairly simple concept. 2 a/c and crew go to OZ for months during their busy season and the same occurs in reverse. It actually allows both airlines to carry slightly more aircraft (and therefore crew) than they would otherwise as the business would not permit them to carry that level of s...

I am aware of at least two people who were entitled to back pay that did not receive anything at all. Wow. We have 4 aircraft repo’d 4 months ago. Everyone saying we are days away from insolvency. Instead, payroll has always been on time, and the retro pay was paid out as promised by the company. A...

I’d sooner leave the country than apply to the WJA group. I think their business practices are disgusting, and a new contract and a little bit of money doesn’t erase how the company views it’s pilots.

Don't fall for this line of rhetoric. Flair is not the big bad threat WestJet management makes us out to be. Re: ground schools canceled
We aren't yet seeing the same rate of resignations we did last summer, so we won't need a June ground school. My best guess would be a potential late summer or early fall class at this point. Or, the company realized they you need to pay bills and can no longer fund the aggressive growth so are red...

Anyone can write a poorly written email and slap a Flair logo on it. Doesn’t make it so. I find it curious that there is no from address or name on the signature block. Could be real, but I find it very dubious.

Re: So much for growth
It means exactly as it sounds, planes come and go to the fleet. They are leased assets, the owners of those assets move them wherever they want to and the lessors have no control over that, nor should they. 777 can paint planes whatever colour they want, they can fill runway 26 with type 4 green ta...
