if my cda starts at the FAF down to MDA and I cold weather correct, will the g530w path be safe to follow? e.g. my faf alt is 2000, mda of 1000, due to low temps cwc faf is 2500 and mda is 1500, the advisory glide path should still intercept at the faf and keep me on the 3.0 path then i'll level of ...

Anyone else get more icing on descents than climbs?
Hi guys,
Just wondering if you guys have noticed a similar thing I tend to pick up alot more icing when descending than climbing. I wondered if theres any science behind it or just a coincidence.
Thanks ollie

Hello, I'm unsure if im allowed to make this post as its asking for donations/ new members, but the organisation so small, I'm trying to get as many people involved as I can. Re: Propeller theory
Do this mean the aircraft will accerlate the quickest with the highest power? Taken to the extreme, consider a reversing prop. When it is selected into reverse blade angle, it is unlikely that the entire blade is at a reverse blade angle, but rather just enough of it that it produces the desired re...

I've read through some answers on here and just wanted to write my own description of how this works and let someone check for me. Currently I've just started to fly an King air 100 with PT6A We generally have 3 RPM settings to use. 2000RPM for takeoff, 1900RPM for climb, 1750 for cruise. The CSU on...

Radar airspace
Just confirming how to identify which areas on the VNC/Lo Chart indicate a controller, wheather that be TML/ACC etc have radar view of that area. I think on a VNC if you are inside a "Controlled area boundary", being the thick blue line which fades in one direction, a controller can "radar identify"...

Re: GPS intercepts confusion
By TRK i mean my current track, this will change throughout the intercept:
-My inital track --> my intercepting track (an angle to my DTK, e.g. 30, 45, 60, 90) ---> My TRK=DTK

GPS intercepts confusion
Im really confused about GPS intercepts. Heres an example, see if im correct: Say i want to intercept station "X" inbound: DTK = 045 Say my BRG (BTS) = 200 so my BFS =020, im N/E of the station so i have to fly S/W direction for any kind of inbound intercept. TRK = doesn't matter Once i intercept th...

GFA - Trough (Purple lines) vs trowal line
Hi could someone explain the difference between them and why a trough forms from a weakening trowal. I understand a trowal as a trough of warm air aloft (I used to know the term occluded front, cold front catching up to a warm front in a system) and trough as a elongated area of low pressure. I've s...

Re: CAT 1 renewal - Colour blind
TC really should adopt a more modern approach to assesing colour vision, like in NZ and AUS where they use practical flight assessments. There used to be a practical test, it's how I got my Cat 1. But then they go rid of it. Not sure why. My medical used to be Cat 1p, now it's just Cat 1. About 9 o...

Re: CAT 1 renewal - Colour blind
Thank you. I really hope TC don't make me repeat the D-15. Since the offical D-15 test, i have read the repeatability of the test result is very high and i have done online D-15s since and passed with no errors. TC really should adopt a more modern approach to assesing colour vision, like in NZ and ...
