I understand this to be my neighbour. To the family and friends, I am very sorry for your loss. It was always a pleasure to have a visit with Lorne.

This CADOR will be very useful for anyone challenging the accuracy of their CADOR. This kind of inaccuracy would be a very powerful piece of evidence at the Tribunal!

Re: Controllers asking airplanes if they are dual or solo

Yes photofly, I have discussed it with the foreign nationals. I feel bad that this is a part of their experience in Canada. And thank u everyone for your input..... I have been pondering it, and next time a controller does it, I am going to reciprocate and ask them to confirm they are a licensed con...

Re: Controllers asking airplanes if they are dual or solo

The colour code system would not work here. Too many transient students. No controller here would ever call a student in a practice area, if weather was an issue. It is a query that some students are asked on the airport prior to flight, and not others. I find it derogatory to the pilots concerned.

Re: Controllers asking airplanes if they are dual or solo

When I first heard of it I did a CADORS search in my region over 11 months. I searched using the flight school name, the foreign airline name, and Government of Canada. The results are funny.

Re: Controllers asking airplanes if they are dual or solo

First call on ground and the controller is asking if there is an instructor on board. Not when something is going sideways.

Controllers asking airplanes if they are dual or solo

I don't think I like this one little bit. I heard it twice yesterday. And it seemed not be applied to every flight. Just to certain flights.
I think Nav Canada is venturing down a slippery slope.

What about the 2 crew medical validity for 40-60 year olds. I thought a class 1 medical was 12 months in this case.

IN 1979, on the lower mainland, I taught a man a PPL civilian license. He told me a story about his experience in the air force during the war. He was sent from the lower mainland to Alberta for training. Just before they were to be shipped off to war, they were given the weekend off to see family. ...

I wonder if the pilots estate made any comments on the pilots behalf in the draft version of this TSB report. I think not.

A suicide is often also a homicide. I suspect he had to kill that which he loved the most.
If he declared he was ill, or ill again, the road to fly again might have not been possible.

My Zulu 2 hasn't worked since new. It's going back to manufacturer again this week. I used my very old headsets. Lesson learned, don't buy your headset while traveling.
