Re: 12V or 24V DC to 400 hz 115v Sine Wave Circuit
I brought an Artificial Horizon that was incorrectly described as 28v DC but is in fact out of a SkyHawk fighter that used 115V Sine Wave at 400 Hz Would anyone have any circuits or circuit ideas for such a supply? Email is this user name at Gmail.com You will need to buy or build an inverter. What...

Re: Too young for a job?
Nonsense. I started flying at 18 as did several friends. The part about insurance is especially BS. I was flying a $1M airplane before I could rent a car. Just show up work hard and act professional.
(BTW I’m curious who told you this. Hopefully not your flight instructor.)

I assume you're a class 4 instructor and have done 5 of the last 10 hours. If so, yes it counts.

Socialized bidding is preferential ie. It assigns pairings based on preferences as opposed to seniority

Re: List of lower end of bond & training agreement amounts
About seven years ago the cost to train a Metro pilot was well north of $20k a head ($34k comes to mind but I’m not committing to it) whether you did it entirely on wing or sent them to a place like Flight Safety. Sims ain’t cheap. Interesting. My employer has always told us that training doesn't c...

Re: Flight Training - Criminal Record
It would be nice if OP would answer follow up questions so they can get more specific advice. Anyways, what I would do is try to get any airport job that requires a RAIC- CSA, ramp, etc. If you get denied, at least you know. If you get a RAIC then you know you've passed the screening and will likely...

Re: Ferry piston aircrafts across Canada
I'm with BPF. Every ferry flight that I've done has been a pain. Planes almost always sell because they don't fly enough and planes that don't fly have maintenance issues. Now throw in crossing multiple weather systems, time constraints and you have a recipe for a very difficult trip.

If your partner is on board go for it. Realistically, you have 25 years left. You can probably retire as a narrow body captain if that’s your thing.

Re: Flight Training - Criminal Record
Sorry guys, how you think it should work and how it actually works are two radically different things in this matter. You can be denied a RAIC for having a relative who is involved in the drug trade. Do I think it's fair? No, but that's the way it is. Lots of background on this site on this topic an...

Re: Flight Training - Criminal Record
Hello, I am in beginning stages of my flight training and can use some advice. I had a run in with the police where I was arrested and taken to detention but shortly released after with the police deciding to not pursue the charge. I was released without having to go to court and ultimately I was n...

Re: LOOKING FOR COMPANY TO GET PIC TIME FOR ATPL
Maybe fly jumpers on the weekends?
As other posters have stated, your options may be fairly limited.
I've seen this scenario play out time and time again- new pilot gets on shiny plane with 250 hrs and then watches everyone else upgrade above him because no ATPL.

Re: Flight Instructor Rating waitlists
I have just one request. I have no problem with doing a bit of instructing and then moving on, that is what I did, but being a good instructor is a choice. It is a professional flying job and should be treated as just as worthy of hard work and dedication as any other aviation job. Work hard, train...

Re: Cheapest possible IFR approach at airport
But that would only get you a private approach. Then you need to get it added to the CAP, no? Lots of private approaches exist, but they're not in the CAP. I had a registered aerodrome and it was in the Garmin database. (Then the neighbor put powerlines across the end and a sketchy air strip became ...

Completely backwards. Flair and Lynx are merging and then they're buying Air Canada. AC pilots going BOTL.

Re: WORLD CLASS CONTRACT: ALPA
Did ALPA Westjet get a North American standard? ALPA seems to over promise and underdeliver. (I still support them) I just hope we have the numbers to vote NO to whatever ALPA reluctantly agrees to and we actually strike this time. ALPA doesn't do any promising, delivering or agreeing. That's what ...

Re: Ferry Flight Legality
Finally a low hour PPL is IMO not equipped with the skills to deal with the inevitable issues that they will get when you show up to fly an airplane that they have never seen before. Isn't that the truth. Ferry flying is, without a doubt, the most difficult flying you will do. I don't do it anymore...

Re: Ferry Flight Legality
It murky and probably illegal if you offer your services, even for free, with a Private. Especially to parties unknown. You could also consider the hours you receive should you be considering that the consideration. That's not true. (I think the FAA tried this.) Hours are not valuable cobsideration...
