Re: Encore interview request

RVR6000 wrote: Mon Oct 31, 2022 5:39 pm What’s the average new hire experience level at Encore? Looking at ACs last 2 ground school, majority of it was from Encore.
I have heard between 1000-2000 hours. Considering mainline is asking for 1500, I don't see many people coming to Encore with much more than that.

Application to interview request less than a week for me, video interview within 3 weeks. Will update.
Let us know how many weeks it takes for you to leave for AC after starting groundschool at Encore.

$65K for a first officer? I'm at the wrong airline!
I didn't say "first year pay"... or "new hire".
Top level FO pay at Encore is $53,600 base pay. That's around $37,000 take home. Jazz is $77,961, but only $55,300 at the same year as Encore tops out.

It's fucked.

Re: Canadian Pilots Are Too Afraid to Stand Up for Better Pay

We also need all airline pilots to say no to voluntary overtime Although, in principle, I agree with your sentiment, that's a very juvenile comment to make. I'm sure you know the reality of Canada's economy and its absurd cost of living. Some people need that overtime to pay their mortgage and feed...

Any update on hiring times? Long enough for you to read the AvCanada forums and think twice. It's quite possible that WestJet will regain it's glory, but it's also just as likely to implode into a hole after Onex sucks every available dollar out of the group and leaves to plunder another few compan...

It's too bad Westjet has reduced its so service so much out east. Eastern Canada will suffer with less choice & service It looks like Air Transat and Porter are going to fill the void WestJet left … the east will be fine. Might even consider it an upgrade … Just poking the bear a little .. I...

Truth is once the largest pilot group in the world, American, joins the ranks of ALPA, and AC adds another 4,000, dues will be cheaper than ACPA ALPA currently represents over 65,000 pilots. WestJet and Encore both contribute less in dues than they receive back from ALPA. I doubt that Air Canada wi...

If you are operating for a 703/704 company, you need to learn how to search and read the CARs and aviation circulars. You are not flying with a student pilot permit anymore. https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-96-433/page-83.html#h-1279481 https://tc.canada.ca/en/aviation/reference-c...

It's an airline with a single aircraft that spends more time parked in YYZ than it does flying. Great business model... cut the largest cost (fuel) by not using it.
