Re: 2014 payrates
AC doesn't want to eliminate CPA providers (Jazz), they want more CPA providers (SKR and GGN). This means shifting CPA work from Jazz to others, thus shrinking Jazz. AC doesn't want to have 2010 happen again. Are not upgrades well over 6-8 years right now at Jazz, what is the DOH of the most junior ...

Re: Georgian RJ's
Jazz is in an awful position no doubt. I'm thinking that more Jazz f/o's will be saying yes to Encore instead of no. Reality is that there is still to many pilots in Canada and the USA. Simple supple and demand. You can blame Sky, Encore, AC or whoever but until they cant find pilots things wont cha...

Re: Does KD Air stand for Kraft Dinner?
I turned down this job 6 years ago because they refused to pay more than 2K a month. Not even keeping up with inflation. Training wage??? I had a current PPC. Basicly you are buying your PPC here, or putting money in their pocket if you already have a PPC.
Wasn't for me. I don't pay for training.

Re: Mandatory Retirement Repeal Passes 2nd Reading in Parlia
The world is in a constant state of change, whether it be retirement age, LCC, etc. You better change with it or you WILL become extinct! The Pilots and F/A's at AC better wake up, for that matter the management as well. A lot more success would be had by all if the company started to work together ...

Re: Jazz college grad new hires?f
Why do you guys keep saying that they arent hiring college kids anymore. They clearly are, and there is no reason for them to stop. It really is a good program as far as the company is concerned.

Re: Jazz college grad new hires?f
Yes they are still hiring college kids, and will continue to. From a strictly company perspective the college kids work great. They pretty much can't leave, so are a good investment, and they dont complain about pay and working conditions.

YYC Commuters?
Is there any YYC EMB commuters that would be willing to PM me and share what a tipical month might look like if you bid YYC overnights? Would a commute to YYZ or YVR work better? I hear that new hire are getting YVR, but I'm guessing that they will be junior a lot longer because YVR is traditionally...

So when you bid a new aircraft for Captain or F/O do you always start at the year 1 pay level? Or if you are a 10 year employee do you go straight to the 10 year level pay?

Re: Sunwest Moving to Winnipeg?
Pay will be about 60K ish to start for Capt. plus a 24k bond over 2 years. Atleast with this one you won't be in yyc, and should be able to stay away from some of the company BS. A lot of people have left the company in the last 8 months, including the CP and Assistant CP now. Food for thought.

What a sad sad waste of two lives!!! When I worked up north I saw a lot of these stupid stunts from the old and young a like, fortunately most get away with it. However, you cant just say we have all done something stupid at one point or another and leave it at that. A young man has died, and there...

some government employees work 37.33 hrs a week, which means that get an extra day off every 3 weeks. this is in over and above their weekends. I believe this may be what it is referring to, how it works into a pilot schedule I dont know.
Actaully sounds like a pretty good job for the right person.
