Re: Time to end this circus: Claude has to go
If I were you, I would be reading up on defamation and slander, because the lot of you have crossed that line more than once. As a guy that saw how ACPA tried to cling on to its corruption ring, this is a huge red flag. I don't know details of this Jazz fiasco, but when there is smoke... This is ex...

Nah...it was the MEC Chair & Vice Chair who had pre emptive no strikeitis. They were going to cave no matter what. They just had to convince the MEC to crumble. And lucky for them enough of them did. Next thing you know you got a TA turd and a director of Flight Ops bragging about the best in Canada...

The other thing, thousands of businesses losing 76 mil per day vs a SINGLE company losing the same amount is vastly different . They were saying here $98 million. This is what it feels like when you negotiate wage gains and barely any quality of life improvements
Your money goes to the government & ALPA and your time (and life) goes to the company

Wowzers! Does that mean Air Canada pilots should be careful too? Are they going to shutdown Edmonton (only 2.5 hrs from Calgary) or Montreal (5 hrs drive plus train options from Toronto) Or maybe Ottawa (2 hrs from Montreal) Or Toronto (only 1.5 hrs from Buffalo) Perhaps Winnipeg and people drive t...

It’s ok to charge $35 AIF for departing from an airport (used to be free). It’s ok to charge GST on all of the above (there never used to be a federal sales ta...

The power behind ALPA is profession unity Companies like WJ or ONEX strive off divide & conquer Solidarity is about everyone willing to sacrifice a little for a greater good If WJ wants to spit in the face of the profession by having a hissy fit because they don't WANT to pay proper wages, that's th...

JR and HE should have been thrown out with the bath water. They aren't the only ones who remain. Our fabulous legal council BR should have been pitched in the bin hard too. Ridge has never done us any favours, quite the contrary. They have far too much history negotiating "turkey" concessions. They...

Doing a great job? How do we know this? We have seen zero articles so far. I will judge when the TA comes out. As for their pay increase, it's BS. The regular member is working on a stale work contract, they have given themselves a raise before the membership. This is after they gave away the summe...

It's amazing to me that some pilots trivialize the lanyards There is NOTHING more important than unity Voting is anonymous and private Wearing a bright ass lanyard makes it very clear optically you support your union and each other. It is pretty clear to read some comments on who still doesn't get i...

Re: Agreement in principle reached.
I think this will pass. Most pilots, current and future, aren't looking to make a career out of Encore. For that reason I think they will take the pay raise now and leave as soon as they're able. Like they were planning to begin with. And this is the problem The "kick the can down the road" syndrom...

It should be clear that sim evals are necessary because there is a pay shortage at Air Canada not a pilot shortage This management team would rather saves pennies by taking what they can get versus actually trying to attract experienced pilots from other carriers. Does United, Delta, American, etc ...

Re: Do the Executives send former ACPA Reps thank you cards
AC Management was always very public with their appreciation of ACPA
They thanked ACPA Reps at public events even thanking the Association in company memos
They are now dealing with a modern day union and aren't sure what to do

Re: Is the ACPA Motto: "We will get'em next time" gone?
Been involved in two pilot strikes- both cases had no choice but it isn’t a fun rodeo. This is my fear , hopefully I am wrong. I usually am. AC will cost the price if giving us whatever it takes to prevent a strike, and also the cost of the likely contract after a strike. They or their consultants ...

So the union is using the summer as leverage to bring in a mediator to force the company to negotiate?
And then we can still strike this summer if the adult at the table sees the company continuing buffoonery?
Seems wise to me

So in the event they do operate them, there is a pre-negotiated rate? Hello? Opposed to ACPA method of “capturing” flying already within our scope by agreeing to a discount. Professional v amateur negotiating. I'll say. What a joke we had become. The Cargo 10% "trick" was close to the last straw an...

This coming Monday afternoon, I'm hoping our new leadership trashes the 10 year "zero sum" deal that has left us "lesser" than when the damn thing started. Yes, TEN years of labor certainly (which is massive) was traded for no gain on our part. Nothing. What chumps. It was quite arguably the stupid...
