Re: Navajo door latches.

Regarding the comment of the latch not being depicted on the safety briefing card, how about just printing new safety cards with the depiction of the latch. Its really not that hard to print the correct saftey card.

Re: Pending DUI and effect on WJ

Panda, With what you have learned and what you will learn why don't you try to create some awareness program at your current location. There are a lot of resources out there to help other pilots make better personal decisions but sometimes we just need to be reminded of the right thing to do. You do...

Re: SCDA Approaches

The point of and SCDA is to make a step down approach a constant rate of decent so that you reach the MDA at a point that would allow you to continue at the same rate to the threshold of the runway. It minimizes the amount of time that you are flying down at lower levels because you don’t level off ...

The best way to land a 300 is to land a 100, then from there everything is smooth.

Re: Low energy go-arounds?

Doesn't matter if it's a 172 to a heavy anything. Studies and experience have proven that a stabilized approach and knowing your procedures will result in a more successful go around at any altitude. Know your approach, know your go around, know your procedures and communicate it if you working with...

Re: Padding Logbook Results In One Year Licence Suspension

Ok I think I have just solved all our problems. No one here likes the idea of padding a log book, at least I hope we all don't. As well I think most people here feel that Catsa and the whole red pass thing is a bit of a joke. So why don't we merge the two of them. TC should make it a requirement tha...

Re: Airdrie airshow July 22 2009

The air performances were really well flown and it was great having something so close to Calgary. My only complaint is about the organiztion for things like traffic control and parking. If ever done again there needs to be some consideration to having some parking off site and having people bussed ...

There are reports of a navajo driver hitting a jack fish in northern sask a few years ago. Guess that's why you should pull up when the fish are jumping.

Who own's the orange 172's in YEG

There are a pair of orange 172's parked over by shell in YEG. I've heard they might be a church group that runs them, is that true? They might be needing a compss swing or at least the pilot's that run them might want to learn which way is north.

Getting a job is all about being at the right place at the right time. When a company has a seat to fill they need to fill it now, they aren't going to waite around for some guy to finish his schooling. Companies are in the buisness to make money, not dreams. Go to whatever school is going to get yo...

Re: Whats the weirdest thing you have seen on final?

Not on short final and not unusual to see but I’ve come close to hitting a weather balloon as I was right over the beacon turning out bound. There is nothing like being in the clag and catching a glimpse of a red weather balloon go floating past the wing. The funny thing is that I’ve done this on tw...

You want a hint. learn to read a map. There is no need for a GPS cause you never fly more then a 1000 ft in Saskatchewan and you fly to the same 6 destinations of which four have the same runway directions. Save your money and spend it on mix. In Saskatchewan there is VFR then there is IFR and then ...

If you’re going north to Stony this list should keep you warm. 1 bottle of Rye 1 bottle of Rum better make that spiced 1 bottle of Vodka 1 bottle of Gin 1 cube of beer. Depending on the company you are working for that might last a week! But I do suggest you make those bottles all the squishy size.

Weasels

I need to gripe about company weasels. You know the type! They are the ones that have the flight ops manager on speed dial and are the first to take management out for beers. They are the ones that when they walk into a room, the whole room goes quiet. These people also are always doing “little” job...
