Can confirm mine took <2 months. I was initially uncertain about whether I'd need to provide more info but it was all clear.

Re: How long did it take for you to recieve your medical? YYZ
My medical in the YYZ FIR took 6 weeks. Definitely check up on yours. I think they said if they needed to contact you it would be done through the Canada Post electronic communications platform (I don't recall exactly). I'd make sure there haven't been any communications to you through this system t...

Re: YWG training offers
I’ll see you in Feb for IFR! Yes, but not until april! I am finishing my degree right now and asked if I could start later. They (very graciously) allowed me to start on april 4th, after my degree finishes. So lucky and exciting! If you are interested, get in touch with me and maybe we could study ...

Re: How long did it take for you to recieve your medical? YYZ
I did my medical the third week of November. Literally as soon as I got off the phone with nav canada I searched the nearest CAME and booked an appointment. I've also apprised nav canada of the situation. Yea now all we can do is just sit and wait. It's good that Nav Canada is aware of all this. Ho...

Re: How long did it take for you to recieve your medical? YYZ
From what I was told by the doctor who did my cat2, if he deems it eligible to be sent out then you will be receiving a certificate from TC regardless. It just takes forever apparently. The sooner you do it, the better it is all around. I also sent an email to nav canada just to keep them abreast o...

Re: How strict are Transport Canada with issuing medical licenses if a test falls close to the standard limit?
... even recommend going to get your medical done before getting an offer to help with the wait times. This is probably the best advice I have seen on this forum. A CAT2 medical with ECG costs $250 in the New Brunswick area. I would probably get one, if I were in a new wanna be's shoes, as soon as ...

Re: How strict are Transport Canada with issuing medical licenses if a test falls close to the standard limit?
During the bootcamp in Toronto they mentioned how TC is very slow in getting medicals out. They said that Nav understands this and will allow you to attend basic without the medical card. However, controlling live traffic is 100% not going to happen without a physical medical card. They said to bug...

Re: How strict are Transport Canada with issuing medical licenses if a test falls close to the standard limit?
I'm not sure at what point they want you to have a medical in hand Once you get to the specialty specific course is where I would think you will need a medical as you have breaks in the course where you go on the floor and actively or at least try to actively apply what you have learned before goin...

Re: How strict are Transport Canada with issuing medical licenses if a test falls close to the standard limit?
If it came close to limits, there’s a good chance the RAMO will want more information from a specialist. You’ll hear from them either way. Depending on what specialist you need to see and what kind of tests you’ll need to do, that can really hold you back in getting your medical. For example… needi...

How strict are Transport Canada with issuing medical licenses if a test falls close to the standard limit?
I was at my CAME's recently for a category 2 medical assessment as I'm starting training in 2023. However, reading about how long it takes to hear back from Transport Canada, I'm beginning to wonder how strict TC is with issuing the licenses? All of my tests fell within the standards, but I recall t...

Re: How long did it take for you to recieve your medical? YYZ
Transport Canada sucks for getting medicals out, few guys have waited over 9-12 months to get it. Nav Canada is aware of this and will let you start basic training without the physical medical. However you do need it before you are allowed to control live traffic. So keep bugging Transport Canada f...

It looks like recruiting for Spring 2023 at YYZ is done. If they continue with the usual trend, the next course will likely be in Fall 2023.

Re: Any word for anyone in Moncton/Atlantic?
I just received the eligible for offer status at YYZ (while it's a different FIR their practices are likely similar) and they told us that courses for fall or winter 2022 are full. For courses beginning in winter or early spring 2023, I was told we should expect to hear back about an offer prior to ...

Re: On-Demand Video Interview Thoughts
It's now been over 5 weeks since I submitted my interview and still no response. I got an email from the Modern Hire platform about how their servers were offline then back online again (?). Wondering how long it's taken other people? I've seen that it can take more than the advertised 4 weeks for ...

Re: On-Demand Video Interview Thoughts

Re: YYZ Half-Day Bootcamp 2022
Wait are we talking about the bootcamp before or after the interview round? Re: YYZ Half-Day Bootcamp 2022
Even the interview part changed between 2021 and 2022. I got interviewed around the end of 2021, and it was a live panel of interviewers. By May 2022, this interview has now switched to prompted computer interviews where you read the question on your PC and your answer is taken and recorded, no liv...

Re: YYZ Half-Day Bootcamp 2022
I just did my interview last week and we haven’t heard back on results yet. They said up to 4 weeks for that so my guess is there will be another round of assessments coming up 1-2 months from now. Ben-YYZ, may I ask when you did your FEAST? You're the person who got the email saying you passed ATC...

Re: YYZ Half-Day Bootcamp 2022
150 seems steep to me. I've heard 120ish for FEAST then 40ish for boot camp. At my FEAST at YYZ they said they've been having <120 showing up so it could be an even smaller pool at bootcamp. Good luck and let us know how it goes! Yea I have to agree, 40 sounds like a more reasonable number, so mayb...

Thanks so much! Ended up getting the interview so fingers crossed I pass this step! Did they email you the interview invitation right after the email that you passed FEAST?
