Re: Headsets
I use a Bose q15 with a uflymike, then on those deadheads at least I have a good pair of noise canceling headphones to watch a movie. The on board ones are ok, but on longer days I find start to pinch.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
I wouldn't worry about not getting another shot. Apply, do your best, best to do it now while the going is good in the industry, or the bubble may burst and you may regret having to wait till the next wave.

Was anybody not able to get original copies of their transcripts? One of my schools doesn't even exsist anymore, being on the other side of the country doesn't make it easier either.

Re: Flight instructing vs Working the ramp. Doesn't add up?
Contract requirements, maybe the company wants somebody with time for a quick upgrade. Instructors are earning PIC time, generally making it easier to get your ATPL, which some company's want. In any regard, I know people that have gone each way, and years later, almost at the same time they are in ...

Re: Carson Air Ad
Well yes, I never paid, nor would I, I'm merly adding to the ridiculousness that there is even a discrepancy in the price, on top of a captains bond.I don't give a rat's ass what the "bill" from FSI is, the pilot shouldn't be paying for it. You DO get that?

$17,500 was the bill I saw from flight safety for a 75 hour initial 350 type. The extra must be to get the room upgrade to a double bed.

Says on the buffalo website they offer courses in "Hiring & Firing" in their school of aviation. Does that involve just not calling people back.

Written by a Delta pilot during Japan earthquake
Found this on another site, good read, surprised the media didn't create another panic about flying with stuff like this. "I'm currently still in one piece, writing from my room in the Narita crew hotel. It's 8am. This is my inaugural trans-pacific trip as a brand new, recently checked out, internat...

Re: Superior Airways Ramp Job
I think people forget quickly what it is like starting out. I am 2000+ without a job, had something like this pop'd up when the industry is slow I would of jumped on it, Even if you started as an FO you'd be expected to pay your dues. This is a position without a bond, and not a bad wage, for what i...

Re: VFR Flight CNC3 (Burlington) to St. John NB
Ive done similar routes to YSJ. I've never had a issue thru the YYZ part, they either just tell me to pick a way, going north around it, or south on the lake., I found the biggest problem with the flight, VFR anyway, was after montreal left you off, getting ahold of Maine Center ( I dont remember th...

Re: over 100 dead, 1 survivor in Libya plane crash
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/africa/article7124851.ece Theories about the disaster focused on a possible technical malfunction or pilot error, or both, just before the A330-200 Airbus was due to touch down. The Afriqiyah Airlines aircraft came down short of the Tripoli runway after a...

There are no schools in the Halifax region, I do believe the closest is in Greenwood, or you can try Debert. YHZ isnt exactly general aviation friendly unless your sporting a navajo or bigger, as far as FBO's go anyway. If you dont mind driving 2 or 3 hours for your flying, I spent many a night at D...
