Re: YVR Base Chair Recall
Based on my info, this is an outright lie. Pick up the phone, call one of the Councillors and ask them if this is true. (It's not). Based on my info, it’s not. Trying to make this about ALPA is quite literally a perfect example of the "distraction" the Councillors talk about in their letter. The Ch...

Re: YVR Base Chair Recall
The accusation that the LEC members were asked to resign because they didn’t wholeheartedly hop on the ALPA train is disturbing as I now question whether the councillors could be trusted to take an objective and measured approach to an issue as important as that. The decision on whether we join ALP...

Re: YVR Base Chair Recall
It’s on the ACPA website under the VCC, Montroyals bias is showing, I think the councillors literature is a formatting nightmare and doesn’t adequately convince me of why we should turf the LeC members and what exactly they would do better if in charge. Many of their accusations are broad based and...

Re: YVR Base Chair Recall
A friend of mine from the YVR Base showed me the "literature" from the Recall Vote. Can someone from YVR explain to me how one side offers a professional document while the other can't seem to figure out how to write emails or communicate without personal attacks? I actually feel dumber after readi...

Re: Documents required for Air Canada interview
Just to add to the above, I got called for the interview, and I am being asked an unexpected piece of documentation: C1/D visa (as I am a PR, and not a citizen yet) Given the long wait times in Canada for the US visa appointment, I will not be able to get it before September! I wish I had known ear...

Kudos to the Project Reroute folks for raising the issue with the company and for Murray Strom for ensuring the right thing was done. Like I kinda agree to a point but also 🤮 Murray is a manager through and through. And I'll leave my thoughts on project reroute for another day. There should have ne...

I think they will not find out if you don’t tell them. It’s not that big of a deal if you’re clean now. Also, you can always tell them that you did that for medical purposes only. You had back pains or some anxiety issues and had to go to Best Oklahoma dispensaries to get some help. Yeah that...

Thai news reports that he may have been suicidal. I wonder what he was doing in an Cherokee 140 with three other people. Perhaps the last few minutes of the flight were more interesting than initially thought. https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2022/03/01/canadian-hitmen-suicidal-as-...

I don't expect to see one until June at the earliest. That will put us back on the "normal" cycle. That said I can't see many changes, there's still a lot of vacancies that need to be filled by new hires.

Re: Bases and equipment
There is a standing bid that you fill out and the company checks it before assignment I respectfully suggest you wouldn't even be finished your training let alone in a position to displace someone else from their "assigned" type. I suspect you would have to show a little bit paitence and wait for t...

Re: Public shock/Delta FA’s paid during boarding
I’m listening to an American talk show on the radio, and it’s funny hearing their shock that airline crews aren’t paid until the “door closed”, or “park brake released”. Delta has announced they’ll start paying FA’s while boarding. If they only knew what we put up with to fly … https://amp.usatoday...

Re: Transat AT seeking additional government funding after reporting $114.3M Q1 loss
Top captain pay scale around 258K a year now. Brutal Holy christ. 258k is brutal. Get your head outta the sand. If that’s brutal you’ve clearly made some wrong life choices cause I know 100s who would line up for that in any industry. That's less than A YEAR ONE A220 CA AT DELTA MAKES. In a country...

Classic Canadian pilot defeatist attitude.
Sure of course you'll take it, but I hope you don't actually think it's acceptable in the long run.

Re: Days off given while on the road
If we have to take days off on the road because of CARS requirements, they are hard days off. No calls, no work, drink all you want. We are then given the days back as lieu days to be booked off on the schedule. Fair deal I think. That actually sounds pretty good. Get a rest mid trip, and STILL get...

Even AC does this on overseas for 24 hours free from duty. Especially on the long 7+ day pairings. Truly NHL level regulations and working conditions.

..., and Flair now has better starting pay Air Canada's starting pay is worse that Joe's Dirtbag Flying Service. But you get a shiny uniform! It's not a "now" clause. Re: The Forgotten Furloughs
Blake was the first to the 82 hrs trough when the 600 furloughs were let go and the rest went to 55 hrs. He was more than happy to support that sketchy Hong Kong operation so the base could "capture" some flying. Too bad some NHL pilots ended up in quarantine camp. I guess it didn't effect him too ...

Re: The Forgotten Furloughs
And now a memo from Murray. What a joke this all is. Mike R is so disconnected from the front lines. Even Q1 earnings he said "basically everyone is back now" which was so far from true. Hundreds of pilots were still on furlough at that time, many without even a notice for recall or a recall date se...
