Re: Date to start paying owners
You have paid tax on that 1 dollar as part of your paycheck. The 1 dollar the company puts in is also taxed. You can shelter part or all of this total amount in an RRSP, and get your taxes back on your marginal tax rate or you can apply early with a Reduced tax at Source applied to your paycheck. Yo...

I saw on the news that it is a Canjet flight. No injuries reported, 7 hostages. FO, 4 FA's and 2 pax.

With our ESP plan you can transfer available shares 4 times per year.
These may be RRSP sheltered or straight stock. You may sell shares
As often as you want. Cheers

Re: Is it a bird? A plane? VNAV? ...No,
Hey Jonny D, did you select the arrival again when you changed runways. From what I can remember in training you have to do this, and clean up the legs pages when you verify the waypoint and altitudes as there will be a discon between the old arrival-approach and the new arrival-approach, hence veri...

Thanks for the information. I wonder if there will be a spot to store my useless Tim Horton's card.
I think Halifax is the only airport in Canada that will take them.
Cheers

Re: TC wants SECOND verified photo for new licence booklet! Doh!
Hey, I believe I have been out of the loop. Are there regulations and a set time line in place for a new license to be issued to operate aircraft, commercially in Canada. I haven't received any information from my company in this regard. To be honest, haven't even heard of a new license booklet. I h...

Re: Accomodations during course
I was just in ground school, was told that just the ATIS request was extra. Every other ACARS including Forecast and Actual Wx was included in the package. The ATIS is extra because it comes from some company in the States. Was also told we were not using anywhere near the actual data limit. Med-lin...

I must say, that this is the most informative posting I've read in months. A nice change to all the bashing. I like the idea of helping a fellow pilot out, when they need to get from A to B. At WestJet, i guess the only way to make sure you make the flight, on standby, is to show up early. I have wo...

Hey Slug, I agree. A friend tells me the 32's are alot better, probably what the 31 should have been all along. I am gonna miss loading Rubbermaid containers in the pod as well as the northern samsonite baggage. It was fun. I think the 31's need a mod in the next few years anyway, I know we had a gr...

Hey Slug, I thought the Jetstream was a good a/c. As a friend has said, like flying a homesick crowbar, we also had 1900D's so there was always a kind of rivalry. One think about the Jetstream, we always seemed to have something go wrong when we climbed above FL200. When we could get that high anywa...

I started my career with Athabaska and carried on with Transwest, and can say that both companies were fair to work for. My vote would be for TW although I don't know much about conditions in YZF. Time on the ramp varies, with rampies taken from different bases to cover flying jobs. I believe they t...
