I read that smiling and laughing.
Base pay should be about $12,000/month, plus perks.
Maybe they can get a good drug addict for the money offered, who flies their plane right to the scene of the crash.

Mechanics paid flat rate make their money based on production.
Truckers paid per trip.
Fruit pickers paid by the kilogram.
Tree planters paid per tree.
Need more examples, let me know.

Re: “I only hire Captains”
I've offered my longest with me employee many promotions.
He hasn't had any interest in taking them.
Likes his job, life, and pay, as it is.
We all make personal choices, and nobody else has to approve of them.

Re: Is One Hour of Fuel Remaining Over Toronto a Fuel Emergency
I wasn't in the cockpit at the time, so cannot accurately describe the situation, or judge them. But since it ended well, nobody perished, or even injured, overall the pilots did a good job IMHO. Is it ever really wrong to be safety conscious when flying an airplane full of passengers? We need less...

Spent last night in a hotel, beautiful view room in Kamloops BC, for $189 included a $20 restaurant voucher, so breakfast cost me a $5 tip.

Next time I am going to a tower controlled airport, wonder what their reaction would be if my initial contact was " I'm coming in hot ". Anyone who ever saw an episode of Arctic Air, knows that the Communist Broadcasting Company makes terrible shows about flying. That show had to be up there on the ...

Westjet.
Even the name says it West.
They should have stayed small, had only 1 type of aircraft for parts and maintenance simplicity.
Then been happy with their share of paying passengers, treated them well, and kept those happy customers.
Instead they got greedy, and well .......

Many, me included, wouldn't even know what sandheads is.
Be much better if they just issued a heading to fly, and for how many nm they would like you to remain on that heading.
For example, Cessna 210 GHI please turn to heading 080 and remain on that heading for 10 nm.

Re: Sky Diving At or Near Airports
I have 38 solo jumps myself, and briefly flew a jump plane.
The announcement is an advisory, the jumpers nor jump plane pilot have authority to control any airspace.
I did also announce that all jumpers were down, when the last one landed.
They are just people, not God.

I personally didn't see so much as a dime of covid money being handed out. Instead kept working, and doing my own thing. But anyone who has a brain larger than a piece mosquito poop should know that when a country prints an exorbitant amount of money, and the government tosses it around without care...

Unless someone has been living in a home since 1900, as far as I am concerned they have no right to complain.

They should get rid of all airport security and screening.
Then get rid of all flight attendants.
Allow people to bring their own food and drinks onboard.
Saving time, money, and much passenger frustration.
The entire system needs a complete overhaul.

Those who wish to get vaxxed should. Those who don't want to shouldn't. It is really that simple. Nobody should be pressured to, or not to. Nobody should be discriminated against, or shamed either, for whatever choice they make. People need to let others do their own thing, be it masking or mask fre...

Seriously though, who moves to Richmond if planes upset them? That airport has been there since long before I was bor...

Good job JT. Virtue signalling with no substance to back it up. What a legacy. How bad do you have to be at PM to drive immigrants away from a place like Canada. The cost of living is insane in Canada, the only thing propping up the GDP is real estate. Manufacturing, energy, commodities are all wra...
