Re: Engine Failure After takeoff (simulated)
I would suggest this exercise should be done in a full flight simulator. Thought the same thing. The other videos on the channel suggest this is an initial checkout, potentially for some owner / operators? I get the impression from some of the other videos this is a bit more machine than they have ...

I've also always thought it was min 500fpm for piston. Min1000fpm for turboprop / jet.

Re: Swoop Terrain Warning
If you really need to know 25nm safe just look at the approach plate. 100nm safe is all you need for a STAR as long as you follow the STAR! You can't just cut off sections as you please, it's not the same as ATC telling you to go DCT GOREG because you are radar controlled at that point and THEY tak...

Descend your discretion clearances
When given a descend your discretion clearance I've noticed pretty much no one calls atc with a vacating altitude call when initiating the descent. What's the actual expectation from atc ? All my flying is done in radar controlled airspace, 250 and below.
Appreciate the insight.

If it's day VFR and you're willing to risk your 172 exploding during a slip with flaps  An instructor once told me that slipping close to the ground was not a good thing, in fact that it was dangerous, because it could induce a spin. The guy was wearing a suit with epaulets, he must have been ...

Re: Carb Ice/heat in 180
Not your imagination, MOGAS is more susceptible to carb icing because of its higher volatility. When you refer to the CHT guage, I assume you are reffering to a carb temp guage? A possible suggestion is keeping the carb heat on until halfway through your take-off run...

Well if you passed your MIFR ride the CPL will be a cake walk heh! The MIFR is probably the hardest one out of all of them IMO. As long as you have your percision 180's down pat which I'm sure you do or you wouldn't have gotten the recommend. Good luck !
