Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow

We’re always separate companies till it’s an AC pilot asking for the jumpseat home then getting pissed when a baby face jazz pilot gets it instead lol…it might be a shitty contract but it’s a contract none the less between two parties and it was violated and massive damages to individuals careers h...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow

The company doesn’t control the seniority list and there is not a chance in hell that the pilots will entertain adding another division by adjusting seniority dates due to something the company did. Once again it's up to arbitration as to what is fair, not the company or union. Maybe the Jazz pilot...

Re: OT opportunities?

We are still in negotiations. The company is dragging their feet. There is some progress being made but it’s very very slow. The general consensus is that if it’s not a significant improvement it will get voted down and honestly a strike is a very real possibility. (Although the company would likely...

Re: Is the ACPA Motto: "We will get'em next time" gone?

This move from the MEC makes no sense. All it does is drag the process out mean while we are getting paid the same and under the same conditions. While they keep labour cost low. Also there is a good chance of no retro active pay. The company is winning lol. If an impass is called June 1st. We woul...

Re: What’s the over and under this dude keeps his job

The fact is that he made what some considered inflammatory posts while in his uniform and that linked Air Canada to his beliefs. His posts apparently caused high value passengers to threaten to boycott AC, which if true, is a clear case of doing damage to the AC brand and is in direct contravention ...

Re: What’s the over and under this dude keeps his job

Apparently he was still on probation so I’d say slim chances First Officer on the 787. So not even relief. How many hours did he have to get hired directly as an FO on 787 to still be on probation? It’s luck of the draw. If those are the spots required on your initial course then that’s what you get.

So why did you book Rouge? It’s pretty easy to look up the seat pitch online before purchasing a ticket.

Re: Ural 320 forced landing in a field (Russia) 12 September 2023

If they had an issue that caused to gear to be stuck down the fuel would disappear at a frightening rate. The gear down fuel penalty on the 320 is 180% if the doors close or 200% with gear doors open. It’s been a couple years so I could be off by a bit but I know it’s close. If they didn’t take that...

I absolutely think they will compare many pay scales during negotiations. I’m personally curious as to others want for improvements other than pay. Higher daily credit, proper vacation credit, training inside the blocking widow, better reserve rules, better bidding, better pairing construction. Tha...

Re: Air Canada vs WestJet

AC currently has one of, if not the worst scheduling rules in the country. While accruing seniority does help the scheduling become more manageable, most people are completely unaware of how long this actually takes. On the narrow body, FO’s take 7-8 years to get a good schedule and Captains take 1...

Re: New CA Expectation

I want someone to explain to everyone why our CEO deserves a raise of 233% with the abysmal performance and overall "in the basement" moral of this company, with its bloated middle Management pool and the worst OTP in this hemisphere. By just "cleaning house", they could find enough money to fund a...

Schedule satisfaction means different things to different people. If your days off are the most important thing to you, then one could say as long as you get all your days off you are 100% satisfied. Conversely if you only want long layovers in your fav spot one could say you are 100% satisfied if t...

The hierarchy must be followed. Provided the airport has RVR, then they must all be at or above the min. The only time you would slide down the list is if the RVR wasn’t working.

I have never listed for VO. I have done VO once from a cold call in all my years with AC. The MEC was very clear in their direction, it is you who are not following it. Do I really need to spell this out for you? Refusing VO NOW gives the Company a heads up to prep a July schedule that reduces the ...

Re: Toronto base wins the PRIZE!

Easy folks, slow down. Our MEC recommended we enjoy our short Canadian summer with our families. It isn't summer yet. There should be no complaint with doing VO now, but come next month and August it will be a different story. Save the jabs till warranted. The company didn’t wait to pull passes. Wh...

2 of the 6 ALPA reps didn’t want it actually and thought that going on strike was a better option! This will go through barely I bet and will send a strong message that 40% of the pilots think this contract is bs! We shall see on Friday. I am sorry but when 2 of 6 say no, there are some red flags. ...

But the loss of the cash savings plan is an IMMEDIATE 20% direct pay cut to every pilot in that program. We have pilots doing the cash savings plan? (aka the owners to loaners plan). Who in their right mind provides the corp an unsecured loan for close to 0%? I don’t know anyone who does the CSP. T...
