Re: Jobs without an ATPL or IATRA

To be clear, flight operation within 704 ops as a FO positions DO NOT require the need for the IATRA or ATPL?
These may include Air Ambulance as well?
Just wondering why some seem to ask for it, if not needed?

Jobs without an ATPL or IATRA

Good afternoon Avcanada members.

Aside from Jump Piloting and Instructing, are there any jobs available to pilots with just a Canadian Commercial Pilot's license?
Any specific fields or places to look would be very much be helpful in my search.
Cheers

ATC Qualifications and Admissions

I have a question regarding potential candidates for the ATC program. Can some light be shed on how many candidates will go through the program for 2010? More importantly, will those who were asked to take the tests with SLH be considered to come in for written assessment under the new management of...

Expired IR and pilot procedures.

Could someone please provide insight to the amended IFR rules? If your IR has expired, does one have to perform the check ride again, or does one have to re-write the Instrument exam again with a check ride? If your expiry date comes around and you don't have the total 6, 6, and 6, what's procedures...

Would you happen to have an Idea of what the general cost would be for the conversion?
Ball park figure?

Fixed to Rotor Training to Employment

I am wondering if I can receive some informed answers about making the switch to flying helicopters - rotor wing. With the time needed for the ATPL almost completed and a lack of descent jobs within the fixed wing market, I'm wondering if someone who has taken this route or has the knowledge can inf...

Re: CBC - Life of a pilot

Oilman, You’re averting the subject of low wages and/or no wages and placing attention to air operators’ expenses. If there is any truth in what you’re saying and what we’ve heard from this CBC special, both operators and pilots need to coexist in a “Sustainable” manner. Piloting is a profession and...

Re: CBC - Life of a pilot

From listening to the show, I too found that the premise of the show did steer off course It did start of discussing the low wages and demand of high hours that most of pilots have to contend with It should have been a three part special. The first dealing with perils fresh commercial pilots have to...

Converting to be an American

Has anyone here found any flight opportunities to the South? I've been told that they've changed to regulations making it easier for Canadians and Americans to work on either side of the border. But what I'd like to know is, is the demand for pilot strong- worthy of converting the Canadian CPL to an...

The AGE OLD Question...

Is there a definite age that would be considered 'late or too late' to be entering the aviation industry? Does experience also help in its determination? After reading” Do I have a chance"... it made me wonder at which time (age) pursuing one’s dreams would be a waste of time.

Blakey and Ronner, thanks for the advice. I'm looking to see if I can acquire a check out for a job in the area. It's not on floats, but I figured that it would be an added bonus if it were. This low Timer is looking to catch a break getting into something, other than instructing, in the Montreal- T...

Float Rating vs. MIFR

Does a entry level pilot stand a better chance of acquiring a flying job with 50 hours or more on FLOATS or by acquiring their Multi IFR? Your thoughts? Which rating has a better chance of being used when trying to enter the workforce?

Float rating and check outs

Can any one direct me to any flight schools or club that offer check outs on Cessna 185 or 206 in the Eastern Ontario area? If these places have these aircrafts on floats, that information would be equally valuable.
