Jack Layton is one stupid son of a bit*h
Globe and Mail, Sept 1st: "Canada should withdraw its troops from the current mission in southern Afghanistan and invite Taliban fighters to peace talks, NDP leader Jack Layton said yesterday. 'We believe that a comprehensive peace process has to bring all combatants to the table. You don't accompli...

Re: Lexington
Glad to hear you know FSS MANOPS inside and out. Guess you missed that part about monitoring aircraft in the air and on the ground to ensure they are doing what you expect? Pretty hard to catch someone turning onto the wrong runway, or the wrong way on a runway when you're running RAAS, as so many ...

Israeli police storm UK embassy, capture Palestinian
CNN reporting that Israeli police "stormed" the UK embassy to go after this guy. Would this be with the blessing of the UK, I assume? I thought embassies were effectively considered foreign territory (belonging to the country being represented), and that the police would not have jurisdiction inside...

Oh. Well that's a dumb oversight on bombardier's part me thinks. And yes a heading check would definitely help things. I do like the transfer of control idea when flying PMA's but that's a different situation. I was under the impression that many bizjets also only have the tiller on the capt's side...

Re: Question For The ATC Types
I just can't count the number of times where it's been down to 300 feet and we're given an intercept either above the glide path 2 miles from the beacon or we are kept in so tight that we'd have to do a steep turn to make it. Manops describes specific "aggressive" (not their word, mine) intercepts ...

Re: Regulatory reference for approach paths
Anyone have a link for the regulations dictating approach path requirements at an aerodrome? Had a look through the CARs, but couldn't find anything. Need help as a developer is getting ready to throw up a six storey condo complex at the end of our runway, and keep referencing a 5 degree approach p...

Thanks to all. That link was excellent as well CD . Just so there is no confusion -- that link describes EXCDS, which is the touch-screen interface used to pass flight data between towers and terminals in most parts of the country now. EXCDS has nothing to do with NARDS. NARDS is a radar display th...

Re: Lexington
On another thread there are media types saying that the controller had some responsibility to ensure the aircraft wasn't departing from the wrong runway. Apparently this is not part of a tower controller's responsibility in the US, which I find baffling. If the centre is basing IFR separation on th...

So now the pilots dismantle the door in order to get back in...and to think the dumb SOB's on that flight into the US a few weeks ago called in the fighters when they had a "claustrophobic" passenger, apparently fearing for the safety of the aircraft. The only way the safety of an aircraft can be en...

those aren't AC guys,.... JAZZ guys,.. and it's not Air Canada jazz,... it's Jazz Uh-huh, sure -- that's why every Jazz flight appears on ticket itineraries as "Air Canada 8454" or whatever. It never appears as "Jazz". Sorry about your AC complex. "Air Canada Jazz" is the legal registered name of t...
