Re: Anyone flying anywhere tomorrow ?
It has been a very long week for me. I want to get out of Vancouver. So, If someone is flying anywhere and he or she likes to take me, I will help with gas. You can take me with you to any of the following destinations. If you happen to be flying back in Sunday or at the end of the day, I will come...

Re: Slowdown
Problem is if we burn up all the food, people starve, we need an engine that runs on 1-part food to 1 part ground up orphans, then the supply and demand for food will balance out in the end.

Re: Courtenay Flight Center
They do the daily rate out there with the cadets, a friend of mine got $100/day as a class 3 instructor last year... said it was pretty crazy and the days were 12ish hours... sounds like a good upgrade to get your class 3, not that great of a gig if you already have your 3. Now if it was year round....

Thanks for that Mach.28 but I guess that all of that is old news. I was hoping to hear of any new developments concerning a rumor that I heard on this site about "large" aircraft co-pilots receiving full time for there hours. It makes sense though, having 19+ peoples lives in your hands while flyin...

we were all going to die from acid rain. say that the gravity is disappearing or something. What will kill us is disease. Same as the rest of the animals. When the population increases so does the diseases. Why do you think we have so many new ones? Its to thin the herd. Oh god oh god oh god!!!!! I...

Re: DA-20 C1
I know this is off the original topic but I wanted to clear up a few things. The DA20 C1's are actually a really good aircraft... so long as the altitude compensating pump is not installed. All of the Moncton Flight College DA20 C1's were converted back to the old non-altitude compensating system a...

500euros / hour for Cat Driver? Think of all the fun 500e / hour would be if spent on booze and strippers!

Re: Maylan Aivation
I've heard that they haven't started operations yet and some staff are already disgruntled. Might just be growing pains from trying to start something big overnight. CFS says Dunnville has no runway lights which kinda limits your working hours in winter, might be something to consider.

I keep running across guys who have gotten their Multi-IFR paid for by EI? Seems all they need is a letter from several companies stating they would hire them if they had the Multi-IFR, then EI pays for the rating to get the person employeed and off EI. Is that all there is to it, or do you need a h...

So, I was asked recently if it was legal to take off from an aerodrome at night with no runway lights. Pilot is night rated, will land at a lit airport, aircraft has all the required equipment etc. Not asking if it is recommended, I personally wouldn't want to try it unless it was a very bright moon...

Correct me if I'm wrong... are not most school on the west coast short instructors? Just wondering, what kind of accomadations are available and what price range? Also, any tips or insight into how the interviews go for the different flight schools (Do you take a plane up during the interview? I assume you demo a ground lesson during the interview right?) and who is hiring right no...

It won't fly, I tried to take off from a icy runway the other day, wheels were spinning and I couldnt accelerate down the runway, so I got out, salted down the runway so I had traction, and took off no problem. Same problem, if you have ice on your wings, you wont take off because you have no tracti...

Ice
Drain out a bit of fuel, splash it on the plane... I know it wont melt this ice by itself, but light it on fire, and it will do the trick... You have insurance right? Might even get you rich again.

What is the 'turning an aircraft' issue all about? As in, use a tow bar to turn the a/c on the ground, not push down on the tail? Or is this a in flight thing, the theory of a turn etc? This "the right man" is just an expression. Don't beat it to death with the politically correct hammer. I dont take offense when Im with a b...

Runway changes...
Just was wondering what is the proper method to change active runways when in the circuit. For example your downwind left for 29 and the active changes to 11... What if 11 is a right hand circuit? How are things different in at controlled airports vs uncontrolled? Thanks for any help you can offer :)
