If they did rwy 21 its a fairly steep approach due to terrain, high minimums, and there is a 700 ft displacement
They didnèt, they were cleared for the RNAV 03 (Live ATC)

Re: Skycare runway overrun Deer Lake May 19 2023

Yes, but Medcom is the common dispatch between the two. The scenario is the same. 2 different companies asked to complete the same flight by the same person (dispatch)

Re: Skycare runway overrun Deer Lake May 19 2023

You both have a point. If a company had a flight to do and pilot A said no the weathers not good, I'm not going. Pilot B says, I'll just do the flight, and ends up crashing with weather being a factor, the TSB is going to go to dispatch and ask, is it a company norm for other pilots to take flights ...

Getting hired

So seeing the bid of 321 spots, is it possible to get hired as someone OTS? Would air canada put a job posting up, or would they have enough in their OTS pool and pml to fill? If they use up the OTS will they need to start interviewing OTS candidates to keep the pool filled? Thanks, from a clueless ...

Everyone's going to bitch until the cows come home, because everyone on here was sitting in the jump seat at the time, and you're always right. You are all pilots, no? Re: Tailwind Takeoff.....your 2 cents

No but the airplane can't tell the difference between being parked and having a 20knot headwind, reading 20 on the asi, or whether its moving forward with a tailwind and reading 20kts. It's still 20 kts on the head.

Re: Tailwind Takeoff.....your 2 cents

Think about it... if your taking off with a tailwind, its probably no more than 10-15 kts.....so as soon as your ASI reads 20, well there's no tailwind on your controls......
