Re: Confidential Medical reporting

Maybe have an awkward-but-necessary conversation with the individual involved before dropping a (potentially carer-ending?) dime on them at Transport?

Re: Floatplane Crash Thread

The really expensive ones have probably been self insured by the taxpayers. The OMNR Twin Otter, the RCMP Turbo Beaver, maybe this Telus one was also self insurance. Any idea what kind of gear safety mechanisms were in these aircraft? It seems like these days it should be pretty easy to have a fail...

Re: Coming clean with TC

You’re sorted now, yes? In that case, as Ralph Klein once famously said, “shoot, shovel and shut up.” Nothing good can come of coming clean now - as Alti mentioned, you could run afoul of some officious bureaucrat who would yank your medical and tie you up in paperwork for months. Keep quiet, suffer...

^ I’m of the opinion that some fancy malfunction that just happened to coincide with gear retraction, and has never happened on any other 787, is unlikely. Much better to fall back on the old chestnut f human error - someone has, (in a panic?), pushed the wrong button, or pulled the wrong lever…

The argument presented by Sulaku about safety is irrelevant. What is relevant is fairness in hiring. The DEI supporters say that unfairness in the past justifies it in the future but somehow, they are better people. Where did you get that DEI is unfairness in hiring? What I always understood about ...

Apparently, someone higher up in the union was let go last week, as they posted a poem mildly critical of a senior staff member?

Anyone got a copy of the offending poem? Inquiring minds, and all that.
