Re: American Pilots coming to Canada?
IMHO I wouldn't worry too much about a bunch of "Yanks" coming to Canada to take away jobs. Pretty much the only way for an American to come to Canada to work as a commercial pilot is if said American is a Canadian qualified instructor. If they come to Canada and get a Canadian instructor rating the...

Re: Buffalo airway Need some Advice..thanks
Well hot rod. One of the female employees commented on the size of his dick, cause he showed it to her I guess he thought he'd get a sympathy bone or something. His wife is the reason he has a business the size of Buffalo, not Joe. As far as the experience goes I have both, DC-3 and 172 and few on t...

Where to go???
I am a class 3 with about 900 hours/650 dual given. I am not happy with the school I am currently with and was hoping for some input from some people who do/have worked @toronto airways; Maylan; Aero Academy; and any other schools that may be looking for instructors. So come on rant away and let me ...

Re: Freelance Work
Thank you to everyone who provided an opinion on this. I will hopefully be able to provide my students with the training that they need to become very good pilot's. I will indeed look into the insurance matters and give some serious consideration to the rules that I will set out for the students. I ...

Freelance Work
I am hoping to get some input from some of the people who have been around awhile. I am getting ready to start doing some freelance instructing for people with their own aircraft. What type of documentation do I need to get this done legally with TC. What type of charges can I realistically charge t...

Forget the 152 they use at the puppy mills. Get a real Plane with the third wheel in the back. You will learn to fly better and faster. Those fancy gauges are distracting for a rookie. You can get a Luscumbe that will really teach you to land with a 65 hp that is started by hand and sips fuel @ >4GP...

The 250 hours is required in the States not Canada. For whomever posted the weather in the States is better needs to thnk about what part of the states they are referring too. Being a US citizen does not help. I am one myself, I hold TC comm/Multi/Instr. Soon Float and IFR. I did my first two hours ...

Labor Unions have a time and place to help those who are unable to help themselves. However in Canada and the US, two countrys that have the highest standards of living, are probably not that place anymore. If the Unions truly wanted to help us here they would pack their bags, move to a third world ...

Guys I am from the US, and this is deplorable at best. I just sent an e-mail without a friendly term suggesting a boycott on the famous georgia peach. I enjoy peaches fine, but I will survive without them. Incidents like this make America/Americans out to be ignorant. Unfortunately Barney Fife is ou...

Aerobatic Instructor Rating
Call John Greer at Future Air in Holland landing. I am currently flying with him for the TW check-out and as soon as I have 10 TW I am going to start on the aerobatic class II. I have also found a DFTE through TC for the ride and am meeting with him friday. Holland landing will be about a 2 hour dri...

AME
Look into ICS Canada, I have a few AME friends who highly regard this course. It is all online through correspondence. I have a cousin who works at Pierson on the big iron and he said that he spent a ton of money and two years getting the same information from a college program. He has told me that ...

Work Permit
Hi everyone,
There is apparently a special stipulation that allows class 4 flight instructors from other countrys to get a temporary work permit. Has anyone out there done this? If so what paper work did you use and how hard was it?

US Jobs
The difference may have something to do with the FAA. A guy can get a comm at 250hrs. Then he needs to take seperate rides for Multi Comm IFR and Single Comm IFR. In the US you can be qualified as a multi IFR, but not for a single, Go FAA. Another may have to do with the requirements for 135 operato...

Helinas you should check out KLFC. I can tell you first hand that this is an excellent place for flight training. I have just finished my Comm/Multi with them and currently doing the IFR. Next will hopefully be the instructor rating. I have already been informed that if I do the the instructor ratin...
