Re: Georgian RJ
Regional 1 is splitting away from Georgian now too. They lost every single contract under Georgian's watch. This tidbit was posted a while back and it promptly disappeared.... I noticed this as well. I'm not sure what has happened here at AvCanada with all the deleted threads. I guess it's possible...

Re: Good Starting Airlines?
Missinippi has hired lower time guys in the past. I never worked there personally, but know guys who did and it worked out well for them. Might be a good place to start. Maybe also look at flying Skydivers to get your hours up. If you can find a good operator, you can build some time in the summer. ...

College or national union Excluding all disputes like GGN vs JAZZ ... How do you legally create a national union? How could that gather all the pilots? Any country has ever made that? I don't know how or if it could be done, but I agree with Justwork. A National Union is the only way I can see that...

Re: " I've been Rouged " Brilliant marketing!
On the way back, the middle seat wasn't taken, so we had more room and it was a very enjoyable flight. Overall, the experience wasn't bad except for the metal wire digging into my knee. Unfortunately, this was extremely uncomfortable and basically made me not want to fly in that type of seat again....

Does anyone know why Morningstar appears to be having such a hard time finding C208 drivers in YYZ?
I would think that would be a good gig for someone with a couple years in, and living in TO.
Just wondering

Re: Sunwest travel benefits
I know several pilots who have paid out their bond at SW, that being said some come to an agreement with management (usually employees who have been there for awhile). The bond is air tight if they want to go after you. Everyone I know who skipped their bonds with Sunwest did not have to pay it out...

Ok.......how many "type rated" guys went to Encore?? I don't actually know of any  In all seriousness though, I only know about 6 guys that made the move to Encore. Most are F/O's that wanted a quick upgrade to the left seat and two are captains that have dreams of making mainline. To each...

Re: North Cariboo Air
So now the job(s) ad has been posted for the Q400....says as per company payscale....what exactly is the salary since this is a new type to their fleet ? Those requirements are Shell, $76k for Captain and $39k for FO. Not sure if Q will be higher pay yet. Can't see them getting too many "Type Rated...

Re: The air force pilot who took her baby on missions.
Great story I hadn't heard before Unfortunately, there was nobody to take care of my daughter at home and there is no kindergarten in the military. So most of the time I took Malalai with me in the helicopter. She has grown up in a helicopter - sometimes I think she's not my daughter, but the helic...

I chuckle at how many first time posters there are in this thread (including the OP). I'm lovin' the political answers. If he's truly not in Management or HR, he should be... :) Q: What do you pay? Re: Some info on CMA
Well, A Skipper at Porter starts at $77,749 so if you are paying more than that to start on the Classic, then I would say that's fair. As for retention, IMHO, companies need to be around $90,000 a year minimum and a darn good schedule before they can realistically expect people to hang their hats fo...

I moved on years ago but it is still, easily, one of the best companies I have ever worked for!
Cheers,

Skydive for sure and then keep trying to get other jobs during the week when the skydive season is over. I got my start flying jumpers and still go back when my other flying job is done because I enjoy it so much. My skydive background certainly imporoved my skills and helped immensely with my curr...

I can't find any info and they don't seem to want to tell pilots what they pay untill the interview. I would like to know what all positions pay if anyone knows? Piston captain, King Air captain and 1900 captain. I worked to hard to make over 60k a year I can't make any less. Good Company but they ...

Re: Good, bad and just plain silly news for 2012
Thank you for the update and status of Jazz Mig29 ! For most of us who still work with 1980's wages in CARs 703, Jazz or WJA (WestProp) is/will be a step up, in pay and travel discounts. Remember at the 703s level, we have low wages, no retirement plans, few insurance benefits and no travel benefit...

It's where I started. Start calling DZ's. Lots in Quebec and lots out west. You can check the CSPA web page for a list. Another option may be to go get your American Conversion. I have no idea what's involved but I know that a few years ago, they were trying to make it easier. If you get your Americ...

Re: So any guesses as to when hiring will resume?
I did the interview and sim a few months ago, but received a call recently from the HR to know if I was still interested by the job. I then received the paperwork for the criminal background and did the medical. What are the chances of being called for a ground school when someone finishes the whol...
