AC vs Delta wages (CAD converted)
I haven't seen it done, so I've attached the table posted earlier this month where I wrote the real numbers (US converted to CAD for Delta wages). I only calculated for NB. You can see that the TA is bringing the FO wages from 60% to 160% of Delta, when the Captains are around 60% of Delta everywher...

Re: Considering jumping ship
So if someone else that is more senior gets the free jump seat, approx whats the total cost to get a seat home leaving yyz? I assume to what city doesn't really matter? Or do you end up having to by a standby seat on ID90? 1. Jumpseat on Porter is $0 2. Porter staff travel is $47 CAD. $0 ticket plu...

New interview process
Hi,
I heard that there is a new interview process at Transat with in person interview and some tests to do as well.
Does anyone have any information about that new process?
Thanks.

Re: Uflymike with Sony xm5
If your fleet is mostly MAX8 and you’re not commuting/deadheading too much then consider spending some extra coin and get the Bose Proflight instead. I don't really like the in ear headsets. Also I like the A20, but start getting tired of it after long flights. And I already bought the sony XM5 so ...

Uflymike with Sony xm5
As I just reached the airlines (flying 737), I am thinking of trading my A20 for something more comfortable on the long flights. I was advised to get the QC45/uflymike combo, but the echo issue pushed me towards the Sony XM5 with uflymike (I also feel the Sony more comfortable than the QC45 when wor...

Re: Westjet FO take home pay
Just finishing up year 1 FO: Doing 2380$ Salary each pay cheque net. 300$ish of that is WSP which will stop being given out as cash this next month and go to your choice of NSP,RRSP or TFSA (still no word on pension) Per diems are hit and miss so hard to budget that. During the summer when busy did...

Re: BEWARE $30,000 BOND FOR 3 YRS
I dare Transat to increase the salary up to 100k/y 1 st year. I guarantee no one will leave for AC then. I'm not sure if you're being facetious, but pilots from many companies from Canada and all over the world are still leaving six-figure jobs to come to AC. I did it, most of my colleagues in my P...

Re: Westjet vs Air Transat
Bond is pro-rated. Working conditions are very good overall at any seniority. Giant paradigm shift in modernization the last few years. Bus cockpits are quiet and spacious compared to the 73. Europe flying can get deeply fatiguing with weekly time zone changes and overnight flying. Probably the bes...

Re: Westjet vs Air Transat
Yes there's a three years bond at Transat. But whatever company I choose it's to stay the rest of my career anyway, so that doesn't really bother me.

Westjet vs Air Transat
Careerwise, what would be your choice right now for a new starter? I am 43 and recently moved to Toronto. Here's my thinking on each: _WJ: pros -possibility to move to YYC in the next few years as GTA is just unaffordable -better income and pension (for now) -socialized bidding very interesting to m...

Is AT a safe bet?
I recently received a contract to join Air Transat but am not sure if it would be a safe move. On one side some of my colleagues who have friends working at AT say that they are really enjoying it and I heard that they plan to grow to 50 planes in the near future. On another side, there's this $1.5 ...

Re: Westjet blocking average
Afternoon, Min monthly guarantee is 77.5 with OT triggers I believe above 85 hours. Typically we never hit the OT trigger in a normal scheduled month. So depending on the month you would be between the two numbers. As for overtime. Yes lots of overtime based on our social bidding system. As per the...

Pension plan
Hi, As I understand the pension plan at AC is 7.5% employee contribution and 10.5% company contribution. On WJ new agreement I believe it's now 10% company contribution unmatched. WJ looks more interesting, but I read a few time that AC pension was the best among all Canadian airlines. Is it still t...

Re: Latest CA
Are people paying the bond to go to AC or are they going after the bond is due? What is the reason people go from 90k wages back to 60k? Why 90k? FO at Transat starts at 64k in 2023. The bond is 3 years / 30k I believe. I think you're right, but that doesn't explain where you found the 90k wages

Ok I will have a look. If it's just a few amendments on the old CA I believe that pensions stayed the same.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: AIP is dogshit
So if I understand, WSP is the pension for 10% and CEP is Cash equivalent payment that will figure on the paystubs for 9.1% and will be taxable right away like source of income?
