Re: Small plane crashes near Quebec City airport

Actually a CVR IS required if the aircraft is configured for more than 5 passengers and if the aircraft is flown two crew. Aeropro had challenged the CAR's requirement for a CVR in the courts and subsequently got a waiver from TC for the CVR.

Is the pay above average to go with that above average captain? Alberta is becoming a very costly place to live.

The pay and benefits are good even with the cost of living.

Airtids

Either get in or get out.....waivers are not worth anything if things go bad. Make sure your shop rate is adequate to pay for a substantial insurance policy! Oh and don't forget to make a profit.

Good luck.

Does anyone think that there may be some onus on the"charterer" to ensure that the aircraft is legally operated and properly insured? In my experience most "chisel charter" aircraft are hired by people not wanting to pay the going rate for a licenced and insured charter company. Insurance, maintenan...

Just another angle to consider, have your company check with their insurance underwriter to ensure that you have adequate coverage. Some policies are very specific with the number of passengers covered per aircraft type and operation. ie 703. vs 704
