It’s pretty common in many other unionized trades that if you switch companies you don’t start at the bottom of the pay scale. Electricians, Elevator technicians to name a few.

Re: Flat bid for Decemeber
Does seem odd when they say they’re hiring for 500 pilots in 2025 but this bid was only 280 yyz vacancies. Slow aircraft deliveries maybe.

How did Charlene go from being a savior to a shill ? Where are the resources? Let's get Joby as the MEC chair, a guy who worked in the US and left..... and can barely string 5 words together intelligently, but but but but - he's an embarsment to our profession and anyone who has played hockey with ...

Yes the Jazz mec. The 285 is from missed hiring in 2022. There is another grievance for the missed hiring in 2023.Man_in_the_sky wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2024 7:17 pm Can you clarify what “our” mec is? ( jza / ac )?
Cause all 285 should be at mainline by

Re: Should I go to Jazz?
I’ve heard it from several of my colleagues who have since left Jazz that once they’re on the other side they miss it. There is a great many things that make Jazz a great place to work and number 1 on that list is the individuals I’ve had the privilege to learn from and fly with. Do I still think I ...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
285 were supposed to flow in 2022 that didn’t. There is another grievance filed for the 2023 missed hiring. "Supposed to?" How do you determine which of the next 285 pilots were "supposed" to be hired? This entire argument is full of holes. It’s not an argument. It’s a violation of a contractual hi...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
Sure they could argue that, however it was a situation of their own making how could an arbitrator side with that. My guy if you have such a clear disdain for AC, why do you want to work there? I’m genuinely curious this isn’t a dig or anything. Since you’re curious, I’ll answer you. I have 20 year...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
First off no AC pilot is pissed when a Jazz pilot gets the jump on a Jazz flight. Stop dragging up ancient history. Secondly AC is the one who screwed the Jazz pilots not the AC pilots. Go after AC for the financial damage. All the AC pilots will cheer you on. Start asking change the seniority list...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
We’re always separate companies till it’s an AC pilot asking for the jumpseat home then getting pissed when a baby face jazz pilot gets it instead lol…it might be a shitty contract but it’s a contract none the less between two parties and it was violated and massive damages to individuals careers h...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
Management loves to say that but I know 3 guys who qualify under the 'blacklisting' but got into AC well before any of their senior Jazz friends did. Right on, if you can find out their Jazz DOH so we can advise the ppl keeping track of this that would be appreciated. First guy hired Spring 2019 an...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
Proves my point even further. Canadian pilots became AC pilots when they merged. AC is not merging with Jazz, it's no different than a pilot coming from WJ or Flair. Your start date is the day you accrue seniority. Look, if you want to work at AC so badly, you can get there much faster through port...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
Hey fair point but several of my colleagues who I was hired with at Jazz that have left and applied externally from other carries haven’t been hired ahead of myself or others at Jazz. It seems they are keeping track of individuals seniority as if they were still at Jazz. They know we’re keeping a c...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
So then grieve! But don’t come after other pilots seniority, because the only thing that does is hurt your fellow pilots. Who will then probably always look at you with a sour taste in their mouth. It is NOT their fault they got hired before you. If you think the best course of action is to displac...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
That was a merger between two airlines. You’re asking for seniority at an airline you don’t work at, what planet are you on man? The planet where a CDN pilot showed up for his first day at AC with seniority. This countered your point. It’s unlikely for jazz but not impossible. Proves my point even ...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
Would Jazz pilots being paid based on their yos at Jazz or slotted into a “relative seniority” have any effect on current AC pilots? Genuine question.
