Re: Air Georgian Loses 1.5 million Passenger Contract With Air Canada

a little un-classy about bring up the FA. Please leave that be, it was a very difficult situation that some are still dealing with today. It has nothing to do with why GGN is losing its contract. Patiently awaiting that news article though. Can't wait to see how GGN will try to spin the news. Word ...

Re: Air Georgian Loses 1.5 million Passenger Contract With Air Canada

Lay-off notices went out. It’s over. Looks like they're keeping a skeleton staff on board for the next little while in hopes they get something. I certainly won't lose any sleep over GGN being done but I really feel for all the employees. I met a lot of awesome people there. The pilots are coming t...

King of the hill? The average NB CA in the US makes just under C$400k. The ones doing overtime are making C$500k. Just imagine what the WB CA are making.
He said the Canadian hill, which obviously pales in comparison to the US hill

All the GGN pilots will be moved over fairly soon so it won’t be much longer.

There’s a lot of ways around this if you’re smart. Usually people who are wealthy enough to afford 6 figure toys are also intelligent enough to dodge the taxman.

My airplane was purchased out of annual so it was “a bunch of airplane parts” worth $8000

Re: Jazz Pilot Pool

Yes Jazz has almost stopped upgrades in the past month or so because many of the upgrade candidates have had AC interviews and it’s pointless to do upgrades when you’re leaving shortly after. The problem is they are now loaded with non ATPL FO who don’t have the hours or experience to go left seat. ...

Re: Atlas Air 767

Although tragic as this accident is, I know of a person who fits this F/O’s description and past training records to a “T” and is now flying boxes around as well.

I don’t know if you omit past employers your failures still show up through FAA or TC checks.

The camping in the parking lot thing got nixed several years ago from what I’ve heard. No longer allowed. I’m sure some still do. Just have to be discreet. Camper van, not large Breaking Bad style motor home.

Someone’s missing a plane obviously. Rather strange they don’t list the type or company since I’m sure they know by now.

Re: Swoop ?

Both companies - GGN and Swoop are degrading to our industry. At least GGN won’t be around much longer (hopefully). Swoop is doing WJ pilots work for 1/2 the pay. Similar to how GGN and Skyregional undercut the Jazz pilots.

Re: Jazz to launch pay for type rating program

What a mistake that is... We need a shortage of guys with ATPL’s to drive wages up in the industry. The company will just hire DEC and/or use the clause in the contract that allows the company to force FO's that have ATPL's into CA seats (with no choice on base and type). Helping out our members at...

I was working there at the time. I think a lot of papers were shredded and emails deleted that night. Was and has always been one of those companies. The CRJ that are being returned to Jazz have ADs that were supposed to be complied with 3 years ago.

Re: Dash-8 Runway Excursion

That’s an ex Air BC / ex Jazz plane I used to fly. I had a WOW caution a long time ago but I don’t recall how it would cause you to lose normal brakes. The emergency checklist basically said return for landing and maintenance action required before next flight.
