Re: OT opportunities?
Plus the economy is starting to slow. Sooner or later bookings and demand will start to drop off. Can only put everything on credit for so long. And those variable rate mortgages...... are coming up for renewal soon. True. However from what I see and hear( through associations) traveller...

Re: How the PM stole freedom
Well Captain..... please enlighten me. I have got about 200 dollars back so far from the carbon tax rebate yet every time I get a natural gas heating bill, for example last month was $130. $40 of that was carbon tax alone. Times that by several months you get the picture. Every time I fill up my veh...

Unless you’re dirt poor you won’t get back more than you pay. It’s just a giant scam that most sheep are starting to finally wake up to.

I’m renewing mine now. Can anyone who is a passport holder sign the photograph? I just want to make sure it’s correct. Mine expires in June.

There could be little to no hiring soon too depending on how much further the Cuban dictator decides to nuke the Canadian economy. 4 years ago seems like a distant memory but many of us were laid off because a virus.

Re: DEC Jazz
If someone showed up with the experience I’m sure a DEC position is open at Jazz but with a starting hourly rate of around $110/hr they won’t be getting too many applicants. Hiring these days is mostly ~1000 hr pilots who are not even close in hours or experience to upgrade.

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
You know what wasn’t honoured either? Jazz’s agreement with AC to have a certain number of pilots. Their hiring and recruiting has been a bust and they have failed in keeping their roster numbers up. AC got ticked off and looked for another regional. Jazz pilot numbers are abysmal and AC has had to...

Re: Average flying hours in YYZ
I do about 70-75 a month on the E175. Used to be a bit more but the pairings are very inefficient lately. Might be a bit lower even. Our flying is way down from what it was 2 years ago. Mostly 1:10 hops to NYC.

That’s wonderful that management can give themselves millions in bonuses. They are basically saying they will have no problems giving the pilots a proper wage during negotiations.

Canada has too large of distances between cities and incredibly high expenses like landing fees and fuel taxes for these ultra low cost airlines to make a go of it here.

Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65
I don’t get it. If you’re that much in love with flying go buy a Cub or a small Cessna. There’s also corporate jobs where you fly but a lot less. The thought of getting up at age 65 at 0400 local on the east coast to go through security and get frisked by some CATSA flunkies interests you go ahead. ...

Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65
Both the employer and the JAZ MEC are betting this LOU will withstand a CHRT challenge. I am not convinced. It is very narrow. Perhaps too narrow. What do you mean? Almost all of our flying is to the US in the east. If they can’t legally fly there what’s the company supposed to do? There’s still Q4...

Well thank goodness no STD/LTD past 65. I wouldn't want to see the benefit premiums if that were to occur.
