Re: Jazz for Life
I’ve been at Jazz almost 20 years and have been hearing doom and gloom the whole time. We lost flying. We merged in other companies. It’s a rinse and repeat cycle. I’ve never been furloughed. They’ve never missed a paycheque. I have a decent schedule and make decent money. I don’t plan on leaving.

Re: How will Immediate roadside prohibition affect career as an airline pilot ?
My first flying job I had to work with these 2 other guys. When we went to work on day 1 in the company van they said you’re driving out to the airport. I thought that was kinda odd……. Then they said they both got DUIs and couldn’t drive but were still flying. They thought it was funny. I was kinda ...

I just had an $16000 paycheque turn into $7500 thanks to the criminals in Rottawa. You have to consider that the more you make the more they take. They don’t get taxed anywhere close to that south of the border.

Also, many simply can't afford it. Do you realize how bad starting pay is at AC? It's literally poverty Exaggerations like this don't help your case though. It's bad, but it's not poverty. I don’t know how folks can live on their own in YVR or YYZ at 58K gross. Sounds like poverty to me. It’s less ...

Should keep the Swoop table on as a reminder for future reference that someone whored their selves out for less than 100k/yr to fly a 737.

Funny when you think about it: You as a pilot are a vetted professional if you made it to the airline level. Thousands are illegally crossing the border at Mexico every day. Not vetted, not likely educated. Gang member/criminal? Possible. Meanwhile I ride the hotel shuttles with fellow regional rats...

Also heard the FAA might enforce the 1500hr rule to Canadian airlines flying into the US. That will really throw a wrench into things and Jazz is mostly hiring FO with under 1000 hours now.

Plus the economy is starting to slow. Sooner or later bookings and demand will start to drop off. Can only put everything on credit for so long. And those variable rate mortgages...... are coming up for renewal soon. True. However from what I see and hear( through associations) traveller...

Well Captain..... please enlighten me. I have got about 200 dollars back so far from the carbon tax rebate yet every time I get a natural gas heating bill, for example last month was $130. $40 of that was carbon tax alone. Times that by several months you get the picture. Every time I fill up my veh...

Unless you’re dirt poor you won’t get back more than you pay. It’s just a giant scam that most sheep are starting to finally wake up to.

There could be little to no hiring soon too depending on how much further the Cuban dictator decides to nuke the Canadian economy. 4 years ago seems like a distant memory but many of us were laid off because a virus.
