So send him an email. What good do you think posting a bitter and snipey paragraph on an aviation forum does? He probably has better things to do than read this forum if he's arranging ground schools. You should be thankful you got a response at all. How many companies actually take the time to res...

Re: Job Satisfaction

I just want to know who currently satisfied or more than satisfied with their current job and why. I hear a lot of grumbling about the smallest/stupidest things these days and I'm curious as to what makes you happy, not why you hate your job.. you should think about this... what may sound like a st...

Over 800 hrs. I think that working the ramp is a great way to get to know the airplane and the operation, and would consider working the ramp for those reasons. But I don't want to end up staying on the ramp for up to 2 years. great way to learn the operation? you betcha great way to learn the airp...

I think there are way better jobs around. But for many guys who don't want to leave the city, who are willing to sacrifice lifestyle for a year or 2 in order to get where they want to go, then I was just giving a realistic protrayal of the situation there. I've got some decent time... I don't care ...

Im not sure why some people dont get it.... I agree, there ARE jobs out there for 250 hour pilots, and MAYBE you shouldn't have to work the ramp at times like these. But you're MISSING THE POINT!! There are MORE 250 hour pilots then thare are 250 hour jobs. Do the math. Not every one of those guys f...

Here's the deal... Working the ramp is a complete waist. It gains you very little knowledge in the industry, its extremely hard work... the thought of doing it for two years... is completely dumb finding. For all you low time guys... I'm telling you... don't waist your time in this gig... not durin...

With the industry the way it is right now, intentionally getting yourself into a 2 year gig on the ramp is absoulutely ludicrous. My company has hired at least five people with 250 hours in the last 4 months for a right seat gig. Mind you, they missed out on the Metro and exotic destinations like S...

Re: Realistic Ramp Time???

I'm wondering what the realistic time working on the ramp is? I've been quoted 1-2 years. The reason I ask is because I believe that working on the ramp is valuable experience. At the same time I would like to get flying and think that I've got a decent number of hours to get a flying position. wha...
