Re: SR-71

excellent read... this aircraft was amazing. I wish it still flew :( Very well written too, you can almost picture yourself in the cockpit screaming along. *sigh* Something I will never see I'm afraid. :(

Re: College says pilot training is unassailable

I have to be honest... I don't think these people writing the article have anything to write about. This happened many months ago and it hasn't been a problem since we fixed it... by going back to the old system. As far as us having 3/4 if the accidents with less than 1/2 the aircraft, that would be...

Re: Voluntary Safety Shutdown of OP's

Maybe this place just needs more paper, like an SMS? Hedley, there is an SMS in place at MFC, which is precisely why there was the Safety Stand down. It was noticed that there was a rash of accidents with MFC aircraft, someone said, "That ain't right," and ops stopped for a few days while staff exa...

Re: Order a Pizza!

I love it when someone asks me for a phone number at a retail store. You can either make one up (too easy) or if it's a cutie-pie, tell them, "My wife and I don't have an open marriage, but in your case I'd be willing to make an exception. What's your phone number, sweet cheeks?" :smt040 ahhahahaha...

Re: Voluntary Safety Shutdown of OP's

With regards to those saying that safety is partly and attitude, I agree completely. Unfortunately, (I'll probably catch some flak for this) I don't believe that an attitude can be taught. It, to me, is something that is acquired and the person must want to act safely. It doesn't matter how much peo...

Re: Voluntary Safety Shutdown of OP's

but i'd like to see it have some more "bad" characteristics for training. and The above is bang on.....dumbing down the training is why we have so many incompetent pilots. I guess a really cool trainer would be a tailwheel Tomahawk then. True, the Diamond is an easy aircraft to fly, but I'm not sur...

   I am reading this in complete disbelief! What instructor would tell another pilot NOT to fill out their logbook?!? And what FTU makes students fill out the journey log? I know my school considered it... and then said f... that cause you could see the problems coming. I have a...

Re: Voluntary Safety Shutdown of OP's

As an informed person, I am somewhat disappointed by what I have read in this thread. First, it was started by someone who doesn't know sh.t about MFCs operation, let alone flying (re: "He says the pilot community is tightly knit."). Yes there have been a number of incidences over the past few days ...

Re: King air Sim at Moncton Flight College

just a little FYI for the BE20 sim at MFC. They won't let you touch it until you have already started your IFR, and that is only if they are forced to. On the flip side, the ATC 810 sim (Navajo) is FAR cheaper and teaches you all the same procedures as the King Air 200 sim would. save yourself the m...

DA-20 C1

I know this is off the original topic but I wanted to clear up a few things. The DA20 C1's are actually a really good aircraft... so long as the altitude compensating pump is not installed. All of the Moncton Flight College DA20 C1's were converted back to the old non-altitude compensating system an...
