Re: Hoverbike...who wants one?

Would definitely require a parachute for pilot and machine.
I can just imagine the regulators trying to define this for licensing purposes.

Re: Go Pro Hero 3 Mounting?

Thanks J.A.C. for your excellent reply.
I think I will go with the black when I am ready. Just have to repaint my truck first. I won,t be able to mount a camera on the outside of our planes anyway. Probably some company objections.

Re: Go Pro Hero 3 Mounting?

I'm in a good position here. I have no video camera.
So, which hero?

Or, which other make to consider?

I like the idea of the WiFi controlled black version.

Re: When Flying Was Fun

Airline food has always sucked anyways.... No man, the first time I flew on board an airplane it was one of CP's 727 when I was six and I will never forget how good that custard desert was. With real utensils and china too! Ever since I've been fond of orange and yellow airplanes. BTW I found out r...

Reminds me of Tariffs that contain a mileage and hourly rate for step taxiing. Do they still?

Re: Pilot Opinion Survey Re: Changes to FDT Regulations

This cannot be good for the seaplane industry. There has to be a differentiating set of standards for strictly VFR flying from IFR / heavy transport flying. In our company we work 4 ten our duty days a week, plus 1 hour for lunch and overtime after the 10 duty hours. I might do 20 legs in a day, in ...

Re: Why??

Cat is right. If I had to meet the standards as mentioned above I would not have made it. I believe, like Cat, that formal education does not create a better or more natural pilot. So far I have managed over 40 years in this business. Thank God I only had to learn to fly to become a pilot. I have al...

Re: Oops... flew into US airspace

Flying from Vancouver to any Canadian destination south of Active pass we cross the US boarder twice in each direction. I believe we are in US airspace for 2 minutes and it takes 3 minutes to scramble an interceptor, so they can't catch us. Not even a high speed Beaver.

No Seneca I "Blackey", No problem, I just landed on the Clearwater strip (Williston Lake) and the front gear collapsed due to a small bracket breaking off allowing the nose gear to release. The main gear remained locked. It was 1979 and come to think of it, it was a Seneca I. Good eye "Aeroyt". Bot...

Ouch! I feel your pain. Etc. High XS. I really enjoyed protecting my ears and getting away from the weight and pressure of earphones. And they do hang on the throttle when I get in and out. It was a dark and stormy 0630 when I lost them as I was about to climb into the old Beaver for the first time...

Update on my new earphones.

I dropped them in the damn pacific ocean this morning. Now if that didn't drain the color from my cheeks

That's 4 cellphones, one eyeglass lens, my earphones and 1 portable radio.
