Because you can, does not mean you should.
There are now numerous examples of Captain Highliner, and Captain Obvious walking around. They look unprofessional and ridiculous in my opinion.

Re: Give them nothing
It is still a somewhat free society. If you do not like the responsibility that comes with your job, you can seek out a new job with fewer worries. One can also seek out employment that provides a higher hourly wage. One could also invest in developing skills, experience, and training that will allo...

Not quite Atphat,
The RRA (Regional Replacement Aircraft) will be branded under Rouge (Lou 74), but flown under Art. 25. Mainline work rules with pay TBD.

Not a good first crack at being one of the top international carriers...
Somebody should be replaced after this fiasco. I nominate GS.
Have a great Day

Jet Jockey,
When did you fail your AC interview?
Let it go, move on, and harbour no ill will to those that made the cut. It will be better for you than holding on to this mental anguish. All the best at AT.
Cheers.

Re: Halifax crash report coming Thursday
What I expected to see in the report and did not, was the difficulty the crew would have seeing due to the crab from the crosswind. The aircraft nose would have been displaced upwards of 5-15 degrees off of centreline to the left. The Captian ( PF) would have to look across the window/glareshield/ce...

Cat,
How many different aircraft types have you been certified to fly?
You come across as an expert on every aircraft out there.
Maybe that is your intent, or maybe I am being hyper sensitive.
Cheers.

Re: Lear 35 Crash at Teterboro
There was a crash at . AFB involving a C21 ( Lear 35) about 14 years ago that was a after numerous same direction circuits. I can't recall the findings, but seem to remember a gotcha with an open cross feed switch/valve allowing fuel to displace to the low wing tank. If I recall, this led to a quick...

Re: Runway Status Lights in Canada
Cossack,
You obviously haven't seen the lights in use. There is absolutely NO doubt as to whether one is cleared onto or across said runway. The lights in YYZ are a far cry from what is now the gold standard.
Cheers.

Re: WestJet to Purchase 787's
Transonic, the required uplift of 4-7 737 to feed 20 787's actually breaks down to 2-3.5 for the 10 confirmed 787 orders. Furthermore, the change in status of future 737 deliveries from 'confirmed' to 'options'does not lead me to believe that WJ mainline will be counted on to "feed" the 787's. Does ...

Re: WestJet to Purchase 787's
Actual pilot numbers are going down, No? Ordered 10 787's, and changed 15 737 confirmed orders into options. Ergo, 5 less fins overall and less pilots overall. A 787 heading to Europe only needs 2 pilots ( under the current contact ) to operate 8-10 hours. And 2 more to return a few hours later. So,...

I worked there many many years ago. I have nothing but good things to say about SW. In my opinion, they did not do everything perfectly, but there was an honest effort to do so. That makes all the difference to me. My two cent advice to you, would be to apply for ANY position. Get your foot in the d...

Re: Boeing seeks anti-dumping probe over Bombardier's C Series
The biggest difference between Bombardier and the other major three (A,B,and E) is Bomardier's lack of any military type of program. Boeing is being fed with hundreds of Billions of dollars through their DnD programs. See: the 767 tanker award. What Bombardier and the Canadian government should have...

Re: WestJet To Launch ULCC
The way I see this unfolding, is the ENCORE pilot group will be given these seats. WJ will sell it to the WJPA group saying that these 10 aircraft were to be returned to the lease holders. So a win win for both groups....unless wages and working conditions are factored in.
Cheers.

Re: North Korean issues
Further to AV8TS comment, The SCUD-B that Iraq used against Israel targeted cities in general. It is a horribly inaccurate tactical rocket. I would suggest that the German V2 had as much accuracy as the Soviet designed ... So, in so far, as the Patriot system hit the SCUDs, knocking them off course ...

Re: New 200' 1/2mile LPV Approach Ban Minimums YEG YYC
I disagree Black_Tusk. This is not good. The prevailing attitude that " at least we can try" has allowed the airport operators Canada wide to focus their collective attention and finances on anything but runway/taxiway improvements. Up until the new runway in YYC opened, the only CAT2 runway between...

Re: Air Canada - High School Requirements
DodgeRamMan, At AC, we have some fantastically educated pilots. We have MD's, professional Engineers, MBA's, Lawyers, etc., but we also have those who have very little formal education past the High School level. One thing I have noticed though, is that most of the pilots at AC have a yearning for k...

Ok Art, Tell us how and to what level are express pilots going to TELL AC that they demand more. Do you honestly think that they are going to start handing out C2 travel passes to non employees? You do realize that express pilots are not employees of AC. They are simply employees of a service provid...
