Re: More trouble for Boeing and it’s Max and now NG...

Optics or Public opinion is the emerging elephant in the room for Boeing and the Max operating airlines. Boeing will get the airplane fixed. Eventually, and with political care, the regulators will certify it. But, will the public, and more importantly for the airlines, the First Class, frequent fli...

Re: What bases and routes do you think the A220 will have?

Gino,
How would ACPA be detrimental to the way AC uses the 220?
Seems like a pretty shallow statement. If you are referring to the fact that ACPA May hold AC to the terms of the contact that AC wrote and agreed to, then sure, I guess, blame ACPA..😏

Quit flying. Get a law degree. Work your way up the corporate ladder on Bay Street. Never bitch about the amount that successful people make. It is there for you as well, you just have to do it. Remember that there are scores of people pointing fingers at you, asking why you make what you do. Rant o...

Re: How's morale with uncertainty of the one list?

Encore Pilots, Dust off, and update your AC application. The AC training department is planning and gearing up for almost 600 hires next year and even more the next. Retirements, growth, and the new duty regulations are driving this plan. AC has hired a lot of their own Express pilots recently and t...

Re: Career First Officer at AC by design?

Wow, Did you hit your head as a young child? You must realize that this psychological exam was not designed by AC? It is designed psychological experts. It is used by many different employers because of the different data that it gathers. The test cannot easily be beaten. If you try, you will fail. ...

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Alcoholism’s post is why, we at AC, have a psych. evaluation.
Seems pretty clear now. He did not apply, because he would not have passed it.
Enjoy your life.

I believe Air Canada has been hiring lately. Perhaps they are interested in people with some experience on the 737?

Re: SWOOP OTS Captains punted from left seat...

Eyebrow, How do you rate “talent” in an airline environment. Should a Snowbird pilot immediately be pushed to the front of the line when they are hired? What about a 15000 hour Twin Otter pilot? Do they have more or less “talent than a 4500 hour LearJet pilot. As you can hopefully now see, your comm...

Re: The End of the WPDL Confirmed

Sometimes you really wonder why a certain person or employee has a work history that shows frequent moves and gaining no traction career wise. Is it their personality or circumstance? Then, after reading numerous posts by said individual, it becomes painfully obvious. They are their own worst enemy....

Re: WestJet pilots to fly Swoop aircraft

One could argue that WJ, has heavily invested in intangible ways. The WJ BOD has invested in strained employee relations. They have taken a very motivated work force and have essentially created a somewhat antagonistic foe, not only with the pilots but with the FA's and CSA's. They obviously have de...

Re: Swoop offering yearly bonuses?

TBALX, Not sure that you fully understand the reciprocal JS agreement between airlines. In order to use it, both airlines have to be approved and signed by each airline. So your best friend may not be able to use the agreement if their employer is not approved. ACPA has some direction in the formati...

Eyebrow737, I call BS on you being an AC pilot. Because if you were, I am sure that you would realize the implications of allowing a JS user to be from a non approved airline. There are only certain approved airlines on the reciprocal JS agreement. As of right now, and from what I have been told, mo...

Sicamore, Add all the AC pilots to your list of non-desirables. I have already enquired, and have been assured that Swoop pilots will NOT be granted jumpseats on AC aircraft under our reciprocal jumpseats agreements. They can take the bus, hitchhike, or whatever, but they will be persona non grata w...

Re: Swoop Cannibalization of WestJet Routes

Aerobod, What you say has merit, but the reality is that Swoop will not have domestic flying as its focus. It will do enough of it to stifle the Flair et.al. The major focus of Swoop, as proclaimed by GS, will eventually be transborder and Holiday flying. This will be their growth routes. This will ...

When SKY started there were 55 CA jobs in YVR on the EMB. 55 CA jobs in YUL, and some 245 CA jobs in YYZ. Now there are 125 CA jobs in YYZ. So, those SKY CA's that bid there time over there, only to now get on to mainline have taken at least a 50% wage cut for the last 5 years or so. They were happy...
