This is a very interesting problem. Essentially it boils down to how much the employee feels that he owes the employer. One could argue that we all live in a free market, that is we are free as employee's to shop our services around to the highest bidder. This may add some immediate financial benefi...

A letter from the top! Dear fellow employees, Contrary to what you may have read, I(MF) am not the seed of the devil. I do admit that I have a pointy head, glowing red eyes, and have breath that smells like sulfer, but have never engaged in sexual relations with BL. I am an equal opportunity employe...

EH Budy! Take yor knee pads off and be careful not to hit your head on the bottom of MF's desk! I know of engineers who have had their paychecks delayed by 1 week. Of engineers using their own personal credit cards to pay for parts! Of pilots carrying weeks of expenses, including fuel, on their own ...

Greenwich quit being an apologist for BL,MF, DR etc. the reason why the J31's are parked is lousy management. They paid too much for poorly maintained a/c. It cost them a small fortune to get them, and keep them flying. Do not blame the ERAA for parking those a/c. If ALTA management had not blatentl...

Loopy, you could be right. They are doing alot of flying. I think they have 4 king air 100's flying all day every day so maybe they need seperate crews for the 1900. I have also heard that they are a very good employer who will give a newer pilot a chance.

after reading the above posts I can only say that perhaps TC was acting in the good faith when they removed the offending companies OC. Perhaps there was enough reasonable justification to do just that. I am NOT a fan of TC, but I do know that a single TC inspector cannot , on his own, remove an OC....

Pika, thanks for stateing the obvious. but if you look deeper you would see that these pilots, like pilots today, need training, advice, teaching on how to fly the airplane when indeed it is no longer by the book. They relied on, as do experienced pilots today, on some rules of thumb or "bush lesson...

Continuing on, I remember a tip that an ol' salty once gave me when I was new. He said it isn't necessarily the weight that will get you it is the balance...." Now this was advice from someone who had 10000 hrs. I never heard anything like that from my instructor because A/c were never meant to fly ...

As a seasoned charter pilot ( lots of PIC on Navajo's, King Airs Etc.) I often find myself "instructing" new hire pilots on the little tips that may save their bacon later, especially when it is their turn flying single pilot IFR. I do not condone, nor accept the deliberate overloading of A/C, howev...

first charter job training

This question may prove to be a bit touchy, but... How many Comm. instructors actually teach their students what they will face upon getting their first 206, or 185 job? My point is this, while we all advocate flying within the stated parameters and regulations, there will probably come a time where...

It appears that the "Good Ship Alta - Flights" captained by B.L., D. R., and their first mate M.F. have hit an ice berg. Perhaps they will keep it floating , perhaps not.... Anyways, there are some really good people there and I wish them the best of luck. Would hate to see more good pilots lose the...

Heard that AIRCO is involved with Quikair out east. Do not know how many A/C or when, but they do run King Airs so I would suspect that one or two may be heading eastward. They are supposed to be a very good employer, so lets hope they are looking for crews!
