British Airways plane diverted over "smelly poo"

Sorry everyone, I was just trying to get to Dubai. Foul odour: Passengers were left bemused after the pilot was forced to abort the journey A British Airways flight was forced to return to England because of a 'smelly poo' left in a toilet. Councillor Abhishek Sachdev, from Hertfordshire, says he wa...

Re: Navajo chief pilot

Ya ask for 80K, tons of work on the upfront helping them get going. I would put a figure on additional aircraft or per number of employees you oversee on top of starting salary. eg: $5000 extra per year per plane over the starting one or $1500 per pilot etc.

Re: Lear 85 suspended

I never understood the reason behind Bombardier developing the Lear 85. It seems to me that Bombardier already has a successful super mid-size on the market in the Challenger 300, why they would choose to develop the Lear 85 and compete with themselves is strange. The Lear 85 from what I can find, ...

I was following what you where saying and took your word that you are knowledgeable in aviation. Re: Oilsands Dependant Companies and Layoffs

Have not heard of anyone getting laid off, I suspect if that happens it will be like last time around when they just cut the "fat". To be honest we didn't really feel it here in AB last time around, heck I got laid off flying elsewhere and was hired here in 2009 without missing a pay cheque. If you ...

Re: Pilot Wages at WJ (1996 Start-up)?

Heard that they payed wages in stock while they were shut down by transport Canada. Anyone know if that's true? Well they started operating in February of 1996 and the shut down was in September 96. The IPO wasn't until 1999 so I doubt it. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that when the entire compen...

Re: Pilot Wages at WJ (1996 Start-up)?

Well regardless of pilots jumping or not from AC/CP over to WJ, suffice to say a narrow body captain making 60K or 83K in todays dollars seams low. Something tells me if Avcanada had been around back then people would be screaming about the race to the bottom etc etc. Interesting.

Re: Pilot Wages at WJ (1996 Start-up)?

http://www.bankofcanada.ca/rates/related/inflation-calculator/ So I just put those numbers into the inflation calculator and today that would be: Captain = $83,879.60 First Officer = $55,919.73 I guess the stock options and profit share would make up a bit, however as a start up that is always a ga...

Pilot Wages at WJ (1996 Start-up)?

So I asked this question in the general comments forum thread about Canada Jetlines filing their IPO. What was the pilot pay like at WJ when it was a brand new startup? I ask this because I seem to recall being told WJ paid crap and where the lowest wages in the industry compared to AC/CP at the tim...
