Re: Student Records - Who does it belong to?

The PTR is property of the STUDENT not the FTU. It must remain at the FTU however for the training period. If switching to another school, have them sign the portions of the completed training on your PTR and take it with you to the new school. Simple as that. As far as files go, no idea. Most likel...

Re: Instructor Rating + experience...............

Stay in US. Get your CFI/CFII/MEI and teach there. Money may not be great, but there are a ton of jobs out there. The are currently almost no jobs for new instructors in Canada at this moment, things might change in the spring, but who knows. You also need to consider that you need the proper papers...

Re: Advice

Hi Ricardo Please keep 2 things in mind when flying in Canada. 1. You should not pay for your training. 2. You should not work for free. Doing the above only lowers the standards and gives the operators all the power. If every pilot followed these two simple rules, I think we would have been better ...

I really don't like your first question. You are not expected to instruct, you can do something else. Please do not become an instructor if you just want to use it as a stepping stone.

Re: Dispatchers know nothing, 172's are now KingAir's, and more!

This is all too common, I have experienced this lack of knowledge, service, treatment, etc from many FTU's. The attitude is like they are making you a favour by allowing you to take their airplane for over $140 per hour. The funny thing is when I go to Budget to rent a car, I get treated with respec...

Re: flight training

Hey, good choice on the Florida thing. Yes you need to convert to TC by means of an examination (or maybe more than one, but if you do a good search here you will find all the answers you are looking for because this topic has been explored a lot already here) As far as the IATRA, after you convert ...

curious if the car parking business pays decent. Honest question, quite curious. When I worked as a valet at a high end hotel, I was taking home $3200 a month on average. My worst months (winter) I was making at least $2500. I worked in hotels to pay for my flying (I don't own a penny) and put myse...
