Re: Questions for YYZ Tower?

I don't think he was talking about the 7000 ROKTO crossing, but more the fact that we get descended down to the mid 20,000's fairly early, usually by Cleveland center, out by ECK. Not a big deal to me...I always just figured it was a US ATC thing because we never get it on the Simcoe or Mans arrival...

Re: The road trip and the wait.....

Really

But really...you need to have some patience there grasshopper...someone will help you eventually, but you've just shown that waiting less than 1 day for a response is too much for you. I'd hate to see how you deal with waiting for 1 or more years in a hole like Thompson!

Re: Provincial Airways

PAL desperately needs a union in my opinion...not necessarily to improve wages, but to protect employees from unscrupulous managers. MANY pilots have been punished for reporting incidents under the SMS system. As of 1 year ago, there was a definite culture of being afraid to report anything for fear...

Re: What it's like to be an Air Traffic Controller

Pilots don't understand us or even listen sometimes, but they rely on us to save their asses when they need us and will probably never say thank you. Sorry pal, but I rely on my own situational awareness and TCAS/GPWS to save my ass...I would never put 100% trust in ATC. ATC is great at improving e...

Re: Federal Court Decision re V-K JR, February 3, 2011

Now of course if everyone since August 2009 can be reinstated you have nothing (much) to gain. Unless, after the legal process is completed, some of the litigants are now too old to come back (either by choice, or due to medical or competency issues) in which case it minimizes the damage (and I see...

Re: Federal Court Decision re V-K JR, February 3, 2011

Until the liability for each pilot reaches $12,000/year (taking into account a 40% tax rate from $20,000 gross), it is worth it to delay FP60 for as long as possible. $20,000/year gross (or worse...a layoff) is a conservative estimate for earning losses for pilots (especially F/O's) if the 150 curre...

Re: Federal Court Decision re V-K JR, February 3, 2011

The Tribunal awarded damages to the pilots of the difference between their salary and their pension for the period subsequent to the August, 2009 Tribunal decision. For a B777 Captain that is approximately $10,000 per month Seeing as the JR was not prescedent setting, it is doubtful that the 150 pi...

Re: Federal Court Decision re V-K JR, February 3, 2011

Without considering the possibility of liability due to the pending DFR, what is the estimate of liability due to Air Canada not rescinding mandatory retirement?

I know I read it somewhere (don't know if it was here or on another forum) and someone had estimated in the range of $3,000,000 a month.

Re: negots?

You have to understand that we have a combination of optimistic and pessimistic pilots at AC. The spouse of the F/A seems to be a pessimist. The optimists maintain that we will get Pre-CCAA wages back (+20% or so) + cost of living gains for the past decade (another 20% or so) and then a raise on top...

777longhaul, According to your logic you better go tell the Governor General that the wrong party won the last federal election. Let me explain why...First, let's say my favourite party is the Green Party (just like your favourite party is the flypast60 coalition). Obviously since the 2008 election ...

Freedom of choice Something we seem to be loosing these days. This is definately something the generation currently entering the workforce is losing. They will spend their lives supporting the greedy, self-absorbed baby-boomers and trying to pay off the massive debt that has been left over for them.

The only ones getting pissed off are ACPA. Hmmm...I don't know about that. The ALPA MEC recently sent out a newsletter which mentioned that Air Canada had expressed concern regarding the allocation of resources between the CPA vs. Thomas Cook. If Jazz neglects the CPA they will find many more SkyRe...

Perhaps Mr. Hall is out on a fishing trip to attempt to enrage people enough that they will make un-PC comments that he can use in court to try to prove his group is being discriminated against?

Don't even bother asking Ray that question! I've put that question out before and all the flypast60 group does is skirt it. Frankly, there have been many workable ideas put forth by ACPA members but the flypast60 group won't work with any of them. They want it all and they won't settle for any sort ...
