Re: How long till things go back to usual

Actually, in the past, it sometimes seemed more like the 1000 rule:

0-2000 152/172/185/206
2001-3000 Beaver
3001-4,5000 Otter
4500-6,7000 Navajo
8000 - DHC-8

Re: Cursive writing.

Your 'old guy' credentials showing through again! It's pretty much a dying/lost art nowadays, sadly. My kids (elementary/middle-schoolers) are urged to practice their typing skills in class, rather than writing. Too bad, really; I wish that i had better penmanship, even if just for logbook en...

Wasn't there a thunderstorm around? (Not making an excuse - just trying to find some sort of mitigating circumstance other than sheer F@#kery..)

Heli-skiing...one of these years! I don't know which is better in this video: skiing in the scenery, or flying in it?

I'm okay with the location remaining a secret. Shipwrecks are grave sites and should be treated with respect.
Oh, yes. Me, too.

She's not a gravesite, though, as everyone was evacuated prior to her being scuttled.

Re: USS Lexington found...

At that depth, the extra 2100' is a moot point, I think.. I wonder if they're going to publish the lat/long? I had read somewhere that there were several WW2 shipwrecks that have gone missing over the last ~ 10 years, as the steel is very valuable. It hasn't been contaminated with radioactivity, so ...

Re: Experiment & Questions

The scientists, and a whole lot of people who are a lot smarter than me, tell me that the earth is round (Ok, oblate spheroid) so that's good enough for me. As for the flying thing, since my first lesson, I've pushed the power in, accelerated along the runway, reached flying speed and pulled back, c...

I think that you might well be correct...it's been almost 20 years... Was that the clip about the two Maritimers living together - where one is 'entertaining' his girlfriend in the other room, and she's rhythmically yelling; "no, no, yes, no?" [sorry, I'm in a country that won't let me watch t...
