Re: Photography Questions and Tips

That and a decent polarizer. Any reccomends for a Cannon punk, on the polarizer that is? I have a B+W circular polarizer that I really like and would recommend. Can't remember what it cost but it was well north of $100. I had a cheap one before that which left a yellow colour cast on everything. Wo...

Where does it say anything about a 206, Beaver or PC12? The only types I see mentioned are a B-18 and C-208.

Re: Typical for Vancouver-- only 23 years LATE!

My girlfriend dropped me off at the seabus in north van this morning and I was at the airport in well under an hour. Seamless connections, no waits, cheap....I was pretty impressed. It's still got that new rapid transit line smell to it too. Better late than never I guess. It's still on time for the...

Re: DHC-2T vs DHC-3T

Air Cab is maybe the one you're thinking of on the coast out of Coal Harbour. Seair has a couple. Transwest in SK. Hearst Air in Ontario just got one, think there's maybe one or two in Red Lake as well. Lots of places used to have them and got rid of them, I guess that tells you something. Seems eve...

Re: Photography Questions and Tips

A polarizer is probably the single most useful filter you can get. Works great in lots of different conditions and it's effect can't be replicated by software. I almost always use one in overcast light or especially after rain, although it will cost you a few stops worth of light. Can you use one on...

Re: Photography Questions and Tips

I am still ridiculously new to the whole photography portion of things.. A simple canon point and shoot has been the basis so far.. However, have come across a very good deal on a 40D and am wondering what would be a good all around lens for shots of mostly people and stationary things at normal di...

Re: Tourism: Thunder Bay? Kenora??? Dryden???

Where will you be crossing the border? If you cross at Pigeon River there are some nice hiking trails along the river to High Falls on both sides of the border. On the Canadian side there is a nice trail on the Lake Superior side too, can't remember the name of it but you end up with a great view of...

Re: ANR Headsets + wearing glasses

I have the 50D as well and do what SuperDave does, very comfortable that way. On a side note, I sat on the cord one day and ripped out a few wires. Sent it back to Telex, they fixed it quick and didn't even charge me.

Re: Photography Questions and Tips

Just wondering what programs everyone is using for raw conversions. Especially the Canon users. None of the Canon products are working for me. Can you change the picture style settings on any 3rd party programs? Like Lightroom, or the Adobe raw plug in?

Re: Pic from a swamper

Nice Slats! Great angle looking down at the mountains, I didn't know beavers went that high. Looks like a lot of compression on that last pic especially. Has float season started up there yet?

A few more recent ones from the coast.
