Michael Bracht Memorial Service

Noticed this e-mail on Mike and Mike's yahoo e-mail page... Being a family member of one of the pilot's, it has been so helpful to feel the love and support amongst the flying community on the av canada website. Someone was asking about a service in Vancouver for Mike Bracht - it will be on Aug. 29t...

Good for Cargo, bad for passengers..

Just curious as to why you think the PT-6 is bad for passengers?

I was not a good friend of Michael Bracht's, but he was an instuctor at my old flight school at one point. He was one of those guys that stood out from the crowd. Always a smile and a pleasant greeting, funny, smart and outgoing. He was not my instructor, yet he always was more than willing to help ...

I find that us pilots tend to get so caught up with all the negative things in this industry. When I first heard about this accident, I almost wept. When the news came out that all had survived I was ecstatic. Unfortunate that the accident happend, but finally some good news.

Truly miraculous.

Try a forces surplus store. I don't know of any in Alberta, as I do not live there. The ones I have seen are around 20-30 bucks.

I drive an 80's 4Runner.
Paid $4000 for it cash up front.
After the initial cash, it costs about $13/day to drive it.
That includes maintenance, insurance and fuel.
I drive about 90km/day. Forget a cab.

Hey Jet Set, I hope you see that I am just teasing. Some of this stuff gets "Lost in Translation" here. I do mean no harm. Craig Air is great. Northern Hawk means well, their employees are awesome and they do there best to accommodate. Regency means well too, great "employees" too. But, I do agree t...

Uhhhhhh, Jet Set, last time I checked, all the King Airs and Caravans around Vancouver were PT-6 powered. Personally, I don't fly with people that refer to themselves as "we". can't blame the ACPA for voting against the aquisition.
it's the same dude that wrote that contract for the merger.
longggg time AC guys voted no as well apparently.
good for them, someone in aviation needs to put there foot down, and these guys are lucky enough to be in a position to do so.

If this is your philosophy on flying, the why don't we let new MBA graduates run banks, or be prime minister.

Or how about a resident GP in a hospital perform brain surgery.

As in any other profession, experience and further training are invaluable and a necessity.

I'm finished now...sorry.
